Customer Reviews

Best flashlight ever! Absolutely the only flashlight I will ever buy. I have been preparing my bug out bag. I saw these Cree Q5 flashlights on several of the survival subscription boxes. I decided to figure out why they all included these lights. I ordered 2 five packs incase I liked them I would have lots of them. I immediately fell in love with the lights. They use 1 AA battery each. I wasn't expecting to get long run time on only 1 battery, but it was over an hour of constant light on full power!! Not to mention the fact you can focus the lens. I have a very long back yard (app 50yards from the back of the house) and with the light zoomed all the way I get a perfect square of light on my back fence line as if the sun was out.I had used to use a pentagon light I bought 8 or so years ago. It would use 3 of the 123 batteries. At close to $15 each battery (retail store) and only getting 40 minutes of run time out of it, I stopped using it. I had then bought the tac 5.11 life for light. It would recharge in a minute. I had it serviced twice and it stopped working a third time. At close to $200 I was done dealing with it. I then switched over to the good old trusty mag light. A great light and good battery life with the led upgrades. Just heavy and can't carry it on my body.I carry one in my pocket everyday now. Don't leave home with out it and my Kershaw Link Clam. At the per unit price of less than $3 buy a bunch and put them everywhere. I am planning on buying many more of these! 5Nice bright light with strobe Hey guys it's Ted... I got these for a present for the people that work for the police department there in Panama City Panama in the Canal Zone.... My nephew is a State Trooper here in the US.good mini light that doesn't eat batteries...Plus 5wats too.. 5Sturdy, Bright, Small Led Flashlight These Led flashlights seem to have a good build quality, take a single AA battery, have a push-button switch with two brightness and a flashing mode. These are badged NLA NPU or NIA NPU With Cree Q5 lamp. They also have a metal clip that works very well. Their size is great--very pocketable, also fits well in a purse, fanny pack, lunch box, or numerous places inside an automobile or truck. You can also focus the beam which I guess is a plus. They are so inexpensive I even put them in coat pockets and sometimes hand them out to friends. I used to buy Lux or Lux-Pro Led flashlights such as the Lux-Pro LP200, which is comparable to this one I am rating and a two AA battery model Lux. Problem is, for me the four or five Lux lights I have purchased over the last year do not turn on or off properly, like a short in the switch. When they will not turn you slap them on your palm and they will come on. Sometimes they will start flashing without you pressing the switch. Too bad, I really liked the Lux flashlights but not if they give out so soon--latest one lasted two months and cost a bit more. Just about all flashlights are made in China. Lux claims on their web site that if you have a problem they will take care of it--NOT!!! Unless they need more than three months to return an email and answer a simple question. I bought Lux both on Amazon and also in Lowes when they were running a special which I believe was a single AA and a double AA as a promotion for around $12. Also, the adds for lamps like this are usually referred to as "Tactical." Give me a break. 5Not as good as the older versions Bought a 5 pack as I already have numerous of this "type" of cree flashlight. Was very disappointed in this particular brand (or version). The first light I pulled out and inserted a ( brand new) battery into simply didn't work. The second one had issues with the switch, where it would turn off simply by touching the button (not clicking it) just slight pressure. The button would still click, but it was hit or miss if it would stay on. And lastly the brightness just isn't up to snuff. It looks as bright as one of the HF free flashlights! Against one of my other brands it looked like it had an old battery. The low setting was about half as bright and in my opinion useless.Needless to say, I returned these to try and find one that is similar to the others that I have already. 2What do you want for $2.40 each? For the price, these are excellent! They're so small you can put them in a pocket or purse. Three different light modes: high, low and flashing. Plus you can focus the beam from wide diameter to very narrow. Construction quality is "meh?", but they seem to be robust enough where it counts. Running on a single AA battery is handy so you don't have to add yet another odd-sized cell to your battery inventory. I've been using rechargeables, which give me bright enough light. And at $2.40 each, you sure can't beef if you lose or break one. 5Who actually WANTS a multi-mode flashlight? Not me. The previous 10 or so like these I bought were single mode and I did not notice that this item title clearly states that these are annoying 3-mode models. Two stars because while they work well enough for a cheap light they're annoying.Edit 2/6/18: increased my rating since these lights are exactly as advertised and work perfectly well. I'm happy with the shipping and the vendor watches these reviews, they contacted me asking how they could address my issue. Given this I cannot let my petulant review stand. 5Inexpensive and you get 5 of them! I received my new flashlight order today. Package arrived in good order. The individual lights were packed well to prevent damage in bubble wrap packets. Batteries are not included as was advertised.I installed the AA battery and inspected the machining quality of the light. The light appears to be made with good tolerances with one noticeable exception. The battery seems loose in the in its compartment. Once the tail cap is installed the battery is stabilized and seems to be ok.Flashlight function is straightforward and easy to use. The light bezel is allowed to slide forward and back to adjust the beam focus from flood to spot. Flood mode is a nice wide smooth beam. Lots of light covers a large area for good illumination or non harsh lighting for reading in dark areas. Changing to spot by sliding the bezel forward rewards with an interesting spot that mimics the square layout of the LED chip set. Not sure if this is just a cost saver by eliminating a diffuser or other optical elements for a higher quality spot focus. This is an interesting spot that shows up square but is perfectly functional. At this price point I would definitely consider buying this item. 4Very bright flashlight for only 1 AA battery I use these small LED flashlights for work. It has a nice metal clip that clips on to my tool belt very securely. Another plus to these flashlights is they only take 1 AA battery and are still very bright. The pictures show how wide and zoomed in the beam is at around 7 feet away. Remember, there are different light modes with this flashlight. If it seems dim or flashes, lightly press the button and it will change to the next mode. Also, the ring around the top of the flashlight purposely has sharp edges for self defense. 5Great little light, there are so many variations of this on the market... I have bought about 50 different flashlights trying to find the perfect one, still looking... but I have to say this is a great little light! It can take a regular AA battery or a 14500 Li-ion 3.7V cell, and I recommend you use the latter it will be about 3 times brighter! This light is small, but not too small. It's lightweight but not cheap feeling, it gets a little warm running it on 3.7V but not bad. I have much larger flashlights with MUCH larger batteries that put out less or the same amount of light as this one. I don't know where they get all these rating numbers because in my experience none of them are comparable. They mess with the numbers to make them look good. Straight up I think this is a 200-300 lumen light, I think the 6,000 and 10,000 numbers you see on similar flashlights are just dumb. How can the same size / design light with one cell battery put out 10,000 lumen? I have a Maglite with a 1,000 Lumen Teralux head in it, there is no way any of those I tested were brighter than my Mag. But anyway, this light is definitely bright enough to light up the night and see where you are going or what you are working on. And that one little battery lasts quite a long time. I have not done any runtime tests, I have rechargeable batteries, I don't care, I just exchange it for another. My ONLY complaint is that the tailcap on this design is too small, my fingers are big and it is a little difficult to unscrew. Out of 50 flashlights laying around here this is one I pick up all the time, just changed the battery last night! 5Quality has gone down hill significantly I have been using these mini flashlights for 10 years about. I often give them away to friends and family because at 2 bucks a piece it's not a big deal. When I first ordered them they were nice and heavy in your hand, probably made of steel and the light was so bright that you could see it from a mile away. When I ordered these they are made of cheap material, they feel wobbly when you extend the zoom feature and the light it emits is on par with cheap gas station junk. Don't bother with these. 1
