Looks great, functions wellI bought the 20x30 frame. This is the size of a standard "poster print" at your local photo shop, but oddly enough it is not a common poster frame size that you you can easily find at JoAnn's or Michaels, so I was looking for quality and low price online. The poster print itself cost $9 at Sam's Club Photo, so I didn't want to spend a huge amount on the frame, but yet it was going in my dining room, so I wanted it to look nice. This frame meets both of those criteria.The satin black frame in the wide 2" width indeed looks nice in my dining room. The width makes it look substantial enough, and the subtle, smooth black satin finish adds class but lets the poster print stand out without the distraction of a fake wookgrain or texture.Note(1): The frame comes with standard screw-eyes, hanging bracket, and braided steel wire for hanging in either direction as you desire; there is no pre-applied hardware (I have had other poster frames that come with hardware pre-attached to the frame, but in this price range such hardware tends to be be minimum spec that easily rips out, so the standard screw-eye that comes with this product is superior.) I put the screw eyes in at an angle so they wouldn't lift the frame off the wall too much. This does require a hand drill and needle-nose pliers, so some tools are required.Note(2): This product comes with a piece of corrogated cardboard backing. I chose to instead dry-mount the poster to a piece of Dollar Tree 20x30 foam board with some 3M spray adhesive I have. I recycled the backing that came with the product. Dry-mounting of a print this large is a good idea to keep it from drooping or developing wrinkles (make sure the foam board is flat, smooth and solid--a bit iffy at Dollar Tree...)Total price of this project with poster, frame, foam board was about $40, not counting the tools and can of spray adhesive I already owned.I hope you found this project walk-thru to be helpful, dear reader. 5Good productServes its purpose. It's not made out of high end material or anything, but it still looks great. It's like an mdf material for the frame, and the glass is a very thin plexi-glass. So although not "real," it keeps it very lightweight. Still has the look I wanted. I can't speak to the assembly of the hanging apparatus, because I plan to just use command strips, which won't be an issue since the product is so light. It came packaged super securely as well which was nice. You would have thought there was real glass in there. 5My gosh, I love these frames.I first bought one of these frames several years ago. When it arrived it surpassed my expectations. I loved that the frame could stand alone or be hung on a wall. Since then I have bought many more and all have held up well. None arrived damaged in any way and all have been very well packaged. I don t think these frames look cheap, in fact they go very well with a frame I have that cost hundreds of dollars for a special print housed behind museum glass. The one person w wrote a terrible review that I wondered if maybe they had received a different product from a different source, the description is so far from what I ve experienced over the past six or seven years. I have a variety of sizes and the quality control seems consistent. This company is my go-to. 5Happy to find the odd size I needed. Ecstatic to see the beautiful frame I was sent!Looked all over town. No 14x14 frames to be found.Then I found ArtToFrames on Amazon... 14x14 and every other size imaginable.The frame was packaged incredibly well and arrived quickly. It's even nicer than I expected!Installing the included hanger only required finding the center point of one side and hammering in both ends of the hanger. 2 minutes.The frame is beautifully crafted. Opening the back to place my artwork in the frame was easy to do. Putting everything back together was a breeze.I will happily order from ArtToFrames in the future! 5Quality FrameI loved the frame itself, very thick and seems to be great quality. The plexi glass that came with it had a small inch and a half scratch (not super noticeable). The first frame to ship had gotten lost in transit, so I didn t want to risk a return/exchange. Overall, I m pretty happy with the purchase. 4Mixed feelingsI ordered the 16x20 frame, one 22x28 frame and a few 5x7 frames. The 16x20 and 22x28 were shipped in the same box; a box that was larger than the largest frame. It arrived with the glass in the 16x20 broken. I was astounded when I opened the box, as I really had never seen such ridiculous/stupid packing and shipping ever. EVER! There was no padding around the frames, and nothing to keep the frame from sliding around in the box. Here's what I did, and I suggest to anyone reading this to take note:1. I immediately emailed Art To Frames via the "Actions to Take" feature on the "Orders" page in your "Your Account." They responded very quickly. But here's the important part: They asked me to SEND THEM A PICTURE of what I received. Now, I had already cleaned up the glass because it was dangerous. I had to go and open up the bag with the glass and sort of "pose" the glass to demonstrate and take a picture of that. Then, I took a picture of the frame itself with the very cheap corrugated cardboard backing poking through the front, so that they could see that there was no glass in the frame. So, to sum it up, if a frame arrives broken, don't just clean it up and get on with things. Take a picture of it right away.2. After I emailed them photos of what I received, their way of rectifying the situation was to send me a new piece of glass, which arrived three days later. All in all, pretty good customer service. I must say, however, that the replacement glass was again, extremely poorly packed. I would guess that they figure that replacing glass now and then is cheaper overall than using tons of bubble wrap or using other such measures to keep frames protected and from sliding around in the box.The frames themselves are OKAY. I ordered very simple, plain white frames and once they're on the wall, they look pretty good. The large, 22 x 28 frame has a plexiglass covering, not glass. This does not bother me and little did I know until I started reading a lot about framing, plexiglass is often preferable to glass (in regard to protecting any artwork) for many reasons. All in all, I'm satisfied, but I won't be buying any more frames from this company, no matter how economical. 3Not actually glass like the photo shows... flimsy, warped, jagged-edged plastic instead!I am extremely disappointed in this product. The image I attached is included in the product description which makes you believe it is a glass enclosed frame. I know it says Plexi Glass, but I did not know that was plastic until just now. I imagined the photo was accurate and it is clearly a nice thick piece of real glass. The Plexi glass that came with it is about 1/16" of an inch, not protective at all, and shows light streaks because it is warped and easily bendable. I ordered this to replace a frame I got at Michaels for half the price that also had a plastic protector, thinking this one was heavy glass. The box it came in even says "Fragile, Glass" so I was just so disappointed when I opened it and found it to be flimsy, warped, jagged-edged plastic 1Just as described, packaged perfectly, arrived quickly.This frame was exactly as described and arrived in perfect condition unexpectedly quickly! Glass (real glass, not plexiglass of some type) was cut properly and sitting in place, with the cardboard backing firmly secured in typical frame fashion. Included saw hanger needs to be attached, but that's no biggie.The only reason I haven't attached it yet is because I'm debating exactly where to hang it, and whether an alternate means of hanging would be better (I've got several various types of hangers/attachments on hand so I have options beyond what's provided).The packaging was exquisite. I can't imagine a better way to pack/ship this type of item. 5Very disappointed over allThis was a particle board frame with a wood looking paper overlay --if your are looking for a real wood frame I would not recommend this -High $$$$ but looks very cheapPlus packed poorly came with broken glass. 2would only purchase again if i couldn't find something betterThe glass wasn't sitting safely in the frame, but it was not cracked so that's awesome. Guess it was good luck?There is no backing whatsoever; There's a soft cardboard holder, i'm guessing to protect the glass? It's the kind you usually find WITHIN a frame, behind the display photo, when you buy a new one irl. Some may care, some may not. If you want to safely hang this, you'll have to buy more supplies, if you want it to sit on a counter, you'll have to buy more supplies.& My frame has a chip in the wood, and the light true color is visible. I'm still not sure if i'll be returning it or attempting to fix it on my own.The Mahogany color I purchased is much darker than the display photo.The best part about this was probably the packaging. It was sort of a cardboard frame FOR the frame, inside the box, rather than bubble wrap? I'd purchase again, but only if I needed a 14"x14" frame again. They're impossible to find irl, and I needed it for a limited edition print i'll be receiving. 3
