    Can't unlock bowl after use.I had an older version of this food processor, I do not lock the newer locking mechanism. Very difficult to unlock bottom bowl from the top, this new locking feature, is a pain in the neck. I'm a senior, and do not have hand strength to unlock the top and bottom. Power unit works fine. 2Up until yesterday i have loved this machineI have had this for 5 years and have used it hundreds of times. Paid $42 for it 5 years ago. Yesterday the slicing blade broke on me so i can now only use one side of the blade...The machine will not turn on using the other side. Up until yesterday i have loved this machine. It is a workhorse. The replacement blade is $20 so at $25 this is a steal. I will most likely order another machine to replace the old one that broke yesterday. 5stopped working within 2 yearsI purchased this appliance just over 2 years ago (25 months) and today I plugged it in to discover it has stopped working. I have used it minimally (less than 10 times) over this period and am extremely disappointed. The appliance is very loud and was frustrating to clean because to have to take all of the pieces apart completely to clean them fully. The limited options for speeds also give minimal control over the processing. It was reasonable enough for the price, if not a little too expensive, but now that it is broken only 2 years later, I don't recommend wasting your money. 1Works well. I initially thought it was broken because there are so many parts!The device itself has a good motor and runs well and holds a good amount of food. I ran it for 45 minutes non stop chopping up some almonds and it didn't skip a beat.I initially wrote a negative review because thought it was broken due to there being so many parts! I couldn't make it operate at all and I thought it was broken. It turns out it was my fault for not putting all the pieces together, but that's the only thing I don't care for. There are so many plastic attachments to the top of the device that are REQUIRED to be present for it to turn on. It just seems a little unnecessarily complicated of a device as far as the bowl and top plastic parts go. 4Great for the priceThis blender has been very good for me. It ha done everything I needed it to do. My only qualm is that on my very first time using it, one of the smaller pieces for the blade broke. Luckily I called Black and Decker and they sent me a new one immediately. Their customer service and speed impressed me greatly. And I was very happy to get the replacement item quickly and continue on with my cooking. I recommend this product to anyone who's looking for a cheap but it's efficient blender/food processor. 5Nice capacity, noise level acceptable, great productWell, I was a little hesitant to purchase this product for two reasons, one was the complaints about the noise level and the other was the firmness of the suction on the feet. This food processor is no noisier than any blending or processing appliance, what do they expect the silence of a toaster, get real people! Food processing is loud, you can't watch TV while you're doing it but with an efficient product like this any processing only takes a moment. Go get your ear protectors on and while you're at it your reflective vest and hard had too, sheesh! Secondly I noticed that several people complained the suction feet were too firm and you had to wrestle it off the counter. These people need to start eating their spinach! Yeah, the feet suction which holds the processor firmly in place but once you try to pull it up, they pop right off. There are several pieces to the top and, admittedly, I didn't read the instructions. But, there is only one way they can go together and a little bit of paying attention and common sense and you will have it. I haven't used this very many times but it is solidly built and I expect it to be able to handle anything I throw at it. Great purchase. 5... We use this thing at least 2 times a week and it has preformed perfectly every time. It is easy to work and easy to take down and clean. 5Customer Service is great they have replaced the parts because it is under ...The plastic that is in the center falls apart with very little use. All replacement parts are on back order so it does take a while to get the parts.2/1/2016 Customer service is the best!!!! They just called me out of the blue. I never asked for a replacement but they called me and are not only sending me the part but they are sending me a different brand a little more powerful than the one I purchased that they think will better suit my needs (grating cheese believe it or not it is only for cheese) they only ask that I donate the old one and that is not a problem. 2Motor sucks...get stuck grinding sometimesGrinding power is average.If you are looking for a heavy duty food processor, this is not it.It does a fine job slicing those vegetables as shown in the picture.Anything stronger like ginger roots will most likely kill it.Overall, i was ok...until it stopped working.Even though i had this for a bit over 2 years, i can count the number of times i have used it (most likely once a month or less).Motor overheated/fried with a strong smell of burning.Worst of it, it stopped in the middle of my cooking and ruined it all...You really don't expect for machines like these to just stop working after such a small number of uses...Like they said you get what you pay for. If buying a less that fifty dollars food processor don't expect it to last years even with light usage... 1Bypass this Food ProcessorZERO STARS - DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM. I used this food processor for the first time to chop cabbage and carrots for coleslaw. When I put the carrots in the processor, once the pieces got to be about 1/4 inch by 3 inches they fell onto the blade and spun around without being chopped. I tried using the pulse button and it did no good. After I brought out my hand-grater and finished the carrots, I started to clean up. Pieces of cabbage and carrot were wedged in the small crevices around the work bowl cover and would not be washed away with water. I had to use a wire pick (from my tool box) to get all the pieces out of the nooks and crannies. In addition, the electrical cord is only 26 inches long which does not give a great deal of flexibility in location of use and I could not detect a difference between the high and low speeds. .Do yourself a favor - do more research than I did and buy a better product. You will find mine on Ebay very soon! 1
