    Does What It's Supposed To DoI'm not quite sure how to rate a portable vacuum filter, but these do what they're supposed to do. I will say that you should clean the filter each time you use the dustbuster, even if you've just used it for a bit. If not, the microfiber filter gets all clogged with stuff. It just takes a minute...just dust it off with a whisk broom or brush and you're ready for the next time. 4Not right size and not refundable!This isn t even the right size that I need! It s way too big and apparently it s unable to be returned!!! So now I m stuck with a useless filter that won t fit our hand vac. Don t waste your money on an item that isn t returnable!!! 1Not all Black + Decker hand vacs use the same filter. Close but no cigar.The Amazon photo shows no apparent air holes in the plastic which doesn't match the photo on the actual VF110 box or on the filter itself. The difference is the actual VF110 has three air holes in the plastic piece surrounding the filter. What this means is that the VF110 is incompatible with the similar looking Black + Decker cordless hand vacs - catalog numbers HHV1315JO, HHV1320JR and HHV1325JR. 2It is OEM so it fits and works like the filter that came with the Dustbuster....It's a dustbuster filter so it either fits and filters or it doesn't: This one does.The filter material is cheaper than previous model filters so it's clear that it will take less rinses before needing replacement. I alternate between two: one in the unit while another is drying from being cleaned. I think these are reidiculously expensive for what they are but if you are ginger with them when rinsing them they can be reused for months before needing replacement. 4Chinese knock off?Ripped off again. There are air holes in the plastic which will allow dirt to enter the motor....The original does not have the air holes. Am I missing something or did I throw my money away? Black and Decker needs to explain. 1Must HaveI use my Dustbuster every day in my workshop. There are times when the debris that I vacuum up is difficult to remove and on occasion causes damage to the filter. It is certainly a far better option to replace the filter then to replace the Dustbuster. Glad that a filter replacement is available and at a reasonable price. This replacement filter is a perfect fit. 5Step down compared to earlier generation vac/filtersThis filter has far less surface area than the filter/vac it replaces. That means it will clog quicker, reducing suction and/or placing more stress on the motor. That means it has to be cleaned more often to minimize those risks. I also think this one is flimsier than the last one. The last one could easily be cleaned, with water, etc. and like new, many times - I'm not convinced this one will handle much of that. Time will tell. Sad that Black & Decker chose a cheaper filter approach for this generation of cordless hand vacuum. 3This definitely IS the filter that came with my Black ...This definitely IS the filter that came with my Black + Decker cordless hand vac Model # CHV1410L.I don't understand why Amazon (or whoever) says they aren't sure it will fit! I have had the samefilter on previous hand vacs. They are ok but too expensive for what you get. If using a lot I haveto wash mine to keep from recirculating dust into my home. Be sure to let it dry completlyafter washing! 3Fits okay, but still defective with holes you need to plug yourself.Problem is not solved (4-4-18). Still has a defect: holes that need to be filled so dirt does not enter the motor area. Fits okay. The original filter that came with my hand vac does not have holes. Strange because the box shows the Black and Decker Brand. Can't get their own engineering right.Model Black+Decker HHVI315JO42 hand vac, which uses this model filter (minus holes). 2Works great, easy to clean, dry and reinstall, effectively filters dust, dirt etcOK what can you say about a small vac filter... well, it is easy to order and arrives quickly (in the time stated or sooner). It is easy to remove, clean, dry and reinstall - oh and it fits perfectly. I have never noted any blow by or pass through of debris. Unless you are using it in a factory it should last a very long time - years?? Happy house keeping, PapaEv 5
