Do Not Purchase - Major Design and Manufacture flaws!Pros1. It is an electric staplerCons1. No matter which Bostich staples used, the machine is prone to bending the staples causing the mechanism to jam rendering the stapler dead in the water.2. As shown in the photographs, there is nowhere on the machine to open the case to get inside to remove broken/bent staple.3. The button on top of stapler to open the staple drawer for loading staples, becomes completely useless when a staple jammed.4. This stapler gets used 1-to 4 times a month, and each case, I am forced to stop, get the letter opener and work to remove the broken stapler. Bostitch needs to do a recall on this poorly designed equipment. Also, fire the manure for brains that designed it and the other idiot that approved it for sale. :-( 1Not for the jumpyI had been using a manual Swingline stapler for the past 15 years at work but the constant jams and the fact I couldn't staple more than 10 sheets of paper at a time convinced me to finally buy an electric stapler.This stapler sounds like a staple gun when it fires which can initially spook some people but my immediate office neighbor got used to it after a couple of days.There is a blue light that lights up when the staples are almost out (usually 6 staples until empty) and the stapler itself holds 4 strips plus the one in use and a staple remover that pops out of the top.There are 4 suction cups to keep the stapler from moving around on slippery surfacesMy only issue that I have run into is that you can't change the depth of how far into the stapler the paper goes before the stapler fires. On a manual stapler, you slide the paper forward or back depending on where you want the staple. On this stapler, you can only move the paper over to the left or right, but not any further forward or backward. 5Worked well for 3 months then suddenly stopped working.I started using this stapler in August, 2016. I used it to staple from 3-10 pages together. It has been used several times per week. I liked the "on board" storage of extra stapler strips. It stapled cleanly and didn't jam. The problem is that it suddenly stopped working in November. I thought it should last more than 3 months. I checked the electrical connection. I removed the staples and checked to make sure nothing was jammed. I left it unplugged overnight and tried again the next day. I checked to see if there was a customer service number that I could call -- but none was posted. 2I am absolutely satisfied with the Bostitch Impulse 25 Electric StaplerI have always purchased Swingline products. However, I am absolutely satisfied with the Bostitch Impulse 25 Electric Stapler. It has some weight plus suction cups, so it doesn't slide around when you insert the sheets of paper. The opening prevents you from inserting more pages than the stapler's capacity, which is handy. But what I like the best is that it staples with authority. The staples go in firmly and the bottom ends are curved in so there are no finger pricks. And in the 4 months I have been using it, the Bostitch Impulse 25 Electric Stapler has not jammed -- not even once! Also, it takes standard staples, which is convenient.I noticed from other reviews that for some people the stapler broke within a few days. I have found that with electric/electronic devices, a device either fails right out of the box or it fails within the first few days or weeks. This is not untypical of modern manufacturing. However, if a device continues to work after the initial period, it is good for years. I think that is true of this Bostitch stapler. 5Doesn't work!I bought this stapler towards the end of 2017 and used it for a few months. It started getting jammed and would not push the staples through the feeder. I called the company and they told me that it was because I was not using their brand of staples and that they would send me some to see if that was the issue. I never got the staples and never had my issue resolved. I have to open and close the stapler every other time I staple a document, unless it is only 2 pages! It is not the staples. I have tried theirs and others! It is the stapler itself and its feeding mechanism. Now, I am stuck with a paperweight instead of a stapler! 1Stopped working after 3 monthsJust stopped working. Not like it is used all day long. Thought better of Bostitch. Hope they exchange...maybe just a defect.Update 5/25/17Had sent in warranty claim on 5/10 and heard nothing back. I called and they said it was being processed and it would be another 4-6 weeks to get replacement. Horrible. I ordered a different brand for our office. 1I really should not get this excited about a stapler... but I am!This is the best electric stapler I've purchased in a decade.... and I have purchased quite a few.This stapler has passed the test -- about 4500 staples in a three-week period --- without ANY jams, without breaking, and successfully stapling every packet of pages up to the number that will fit into it. Previous electric staplers I have purchased (several different brands including one Swingline that was supposed to be heavy duty) constantly jam or mis-staple or break in the middle of important projects. I am sorely tempted to throw away all of the other staplers still in my office and buy a bunch of these.I also love the reassuring and quick Thump! noise that this stapler makes, rather than the two-stage noise of other staplers. If you are doing a lot of stapling in a short amount of time, it goes faster.It's nice to find a product that actually works how it is supposed to! 5The Power Tool of PaperWork... I thought I had so much that needed stapling before I bought it, but I went through it all so quickly with it, now I look for things to put a staple in just to use it. This one stopped working properly after I had it a month. Used it only moderately, a few times a week. Suddenly, it would staple once, then I would have to open it and reset it to have it staple again. I no longer was able to staple more than one thing without going through this routine. I have to do a lot of stapling at work and this really speeds things up because I have to use both hands to pick up paper out of two stacks and then square them up and then staple them. Other electric staplers that I have used staple rather slowly as though there is some sort of gear inside that has to make a full rotation to staple the papers. However, this one is much more like a staple gun or a nail gun. With this one, I insert the papers and, bam, it's done immediately. Sounds like a small thing but if you have to do a lot of stapling, it speeds things up. Product feels as though it is high quality; nice heft. 5
