Don't bother... cute but inefficientSince it says not to leave it on while cooking, I didn't. When I tried to get it on to pick up the pan, I couldn't get it on. Fixed that with some silicone spray inside. Works MUCH better. As long as you ;pick i up immediately, it works. I set the pan back down OFF of the heat. A couple of seconds later I picked it up to move it and nearly dropped it on my foot. The handle holder was fire hot!Too much trouble to spray and then worry about when it will be too hot to touch. Don't plan on using it any more. I have an old one that I use to use on my calphalon that I pulled out... works great. 2No more burnsThe fit was a little tight but the snug fit is probably a very important feature. I like the fact that it is snug on the handle. Washing it is simple. It makes a big difference as far as heat on the handle. No accidental burns. I was surprised that the handle is still warm and that s why it got 4 stars. No, it doesn t burn like without. Overall I would buy again. 5Not protecting from hot handle..I just got this mini holder that I am using for a small lodge cast iron (8"). Fit of this product I would rate as okay, it is not tight fit that makes you struggle to put on and off. What kind of disappointed to me is the fact that i can't leave this holder on the pan handle while I am cooking, I made pancakes this morning and the handle get hot not even after the first pancake is done and it was on medium heat so I have to take the holder on and off while cooking. I was under the impression that this holder can provide protection from the heat of hot cast iron handle if you you leave it on while cooking on stove top. I understand seller advise not to put in the oven while cooking with the cast iron. Not sure if my holder just defective or this is what it is supposed to be so any potential consumer please note my experience... 2Not greatI cannot use this with my gas stove even on really low. The instructions says to leave it partially pulled out for gas stoves and there are two problems with that:1.) I bought it to use as a handle; if the cast iron pan is hot where am I supposed to hold the pan when I push the handle all the way on when I want to use it (or when I need to pull it back off when not using)? The answer is, you need another type of heat protection. And if I need to use that, why do I need this handle?2.) I like to hold onto the pan when I saut certain items that cook quickly. I m moving the pan around too frequently to not have the handle on all the time for constant usage.I gave this two stars because I suppose you could use it with electric cook tops, but I have not verified. You could also use it to pull a pan out of the oven, but likely not to put in as you need to remove the handle and you can t while you re holding it. 2Happy With TheseThis handle is pretty cool. It's got little nubbies inside it that hold smaller pan handles, and the color is cheerful. I have lupus with inflammatory arthritis and nerve damage, and my hands are not so nimble. The handle holder is a lot easier than oven mitts, traditional pot holders, or silicone gloves for handling heavy cast iron pots and pans, because it protects my hands from the heat without adding too much bulk or further limiting the motion I have left.One bit of warning - you can leave these on while you cook on low to medium heat, but if you go higher than that, they will get pretty warm themselves. 4Must Have for Cast IronMust have for your cast iron skillet. I think when you are used to using the new age kitchen tools we are used to the fact that we do not have grab a potholder or cover for our skillets...they are all built in. There ins nothing worse then reaching for that scorching hot cast iron skillet and feeling the wrath of the ancient beauty that is cast iron burring through your flesh. Seriously, it will happen. No matter how many times you have used your cast iron you will get too comfortable and you will scorch your little fingers right off.Get this Hot Handle Holder to protect yourself, your hand and fingers from the burning wrath of the cast iron. 5Careful what you are purchasing for. Not all cautions described in websiteThis handle does not properly fit due to its shape. I had a small pan and all this does is weight down the handle on the stove and tips panThey should expressively describe what specific size pans and handles this is built for. Also, heats up, so you can still burn your hand and possibly melt handle per instructions received with unit and not described on web site 1Works great, but too large for my mini panThis holder works great but it's not the right size for all mini pans (it looks to be more for a small pan than mini). I purchased it for a cast iron pan that's probably 6 inches in diameter. The silicone handle was too long for the pan handle. But, it totally stays on (no sliding), looks nice, and it protects against the heat which is exactly why I bought it. It's possible there's other "mini" pans this item fits perfectly for, but I'd double check the measurements if you're looking for a tight fit. 4Good for about 1 minuteGood for about 1 minute, if you need to hold onto the skillet for more than 1 minute, the heat will pass thru the cover to your hand and start burning.I left mine on the side while cooking, only slip on when I need to move the skillet.First time use last night, when done cooking, I grab the skillet from the stove to sink using the holder, which is less than 3 ft. by the time I get to the sink, my hand already feel the heat and had to grab an extra cloth to hold the skillet in order to wash it.Plus it seems to be too big for majority of the cast iron skillet that I've seen. The skillet might slip out while changing to avoid burn. 2Good Value, Good FunctionThere's not too much to say about these. They work quite well on all our frying pans, our cast iron skillet and our cast iron pan. I've already recommended them to other people. A very good value, in my opinion. Worth grabbing 2, also. I've already been in a cooking situation where I've used both. If these last for some years, the rating should be five stars. I've only had them a short while, though, so I cannot say for sure on that. Hence the 4 stars. Overall, though, I would definitely recommend these. 4
