Customer Reviews
I did not get glass head pins. I paid ...I did not get glass head pins. I paid $8.49 for some cheap plastic head pins that will melt when ironed over. They were packed in a cheap plastic container with some of the points sticking out and several of them were also bent. This is the third time I have ordered something from Amazon and it was not up to the discription. Ppl it says Dritz glass head pins right in the product discription but it was not Dritz s packaging. I stocked their products for ten yrs and kno their quality and packaging. I would suggest not ordering this product if you sew make crafts or quilt. It s disappointing Amazon will NOT stand behind their product when it has a Amazon choice ribbon on it.
1These quilters' pins have so many uses. They seem ...These quilters' pins have so many uses. They seem to last forever, and are very sharp. They are extra long, so can be used on thick fabrics with ease and not bending. I have used them for many years, and finally needed to re-supply. These have the same qualities as my long-used ones.
5I know it is a 'no-no' but I use these extra fine pins with my heavy duty machine and sew right ...These are the only pins I use. I know it is a 'no-no' but I use these extra fine pins with my heavy duty machine and sew right over them with no issues at all. Doing this makes my points match up much better in my quilt piecing. It is possible this dulls my needle but I buy bulk needles and change it before each project so I have no issues with dulling.
5Best pins for general useThese are by far the best pins I have found for general sewing use. They are long enough to stay where you put them. They are fine enough not to do any damage. They pick up easily with a magnet. And best of all, the heads are glass and they will not met.
5They are what they say. These pins are what they say "fine". But somewhat fragile to. I bought them for ironing purposes and they will be great for that so no loss there. Two things that really bug me is the heads are so small they are very hard to pick up (and I have small hands) and they are not very sharp, I struggle a bit getting the through multiple layers of fabric (2 layers are fine). I use pins when nesting seems in quilting and this where these pins are not quite sharp or sturdy enough. Now the description is accurate so no disappointment there.
3No problems with these pinsAs others have stated, they are indeed fine pins - just what I wanted. I have used them on denim, flannel, and cotton materials, with no problems. One pin was bent but I don't know if it came that way or if I did it. No worries, there are lots more in the container. I did put them on my magnetic pin holder and am quite pleased with this product.
4They do what they're made to do.I didn't really care all that much about the manufacture of pins until I started getting into quilting and sewing as more than just a want to cheaply repair rips and tears, but when I started to iron pinned seams before sewing I quickly learned how useful glass-headed pins are. Not only are the ends perfect for ironing a seam, but the pins are very fine and very sharp. Which, because I'm a clutz, has made for some prickly moments--but the pins do their job with aplomb, and never give my sewing machine issue when I sew over them.
5sorry I didn't learn of these earlier!!!Can I love a pin so very much ? EXTRA fine, extra sharp, LONG, glass head so can be ironed over...sorry I didn't learn of these earlier!!! these gems are worth every penny!( I use for sewing, thin weights, knits mostly, hand sewing, not quilting)
5Snagged and Left Visible Holes In Lightweight Woven FabricI ordered these to sew several light weight apparel fabrics. With my fabric laid out and ready to cut I opened my new box of pins. The pins did not pierce the fabric smoothly. They made holes in and snagged the fabric in several places along one seam before I put them away. For this project I was using a viscose twill. This may work better for quilting cottons or medium to heavier weight fabrics, however they are not extra fine as the label indicates. Do not use these for your light weight woven fabrics! Please note this item is not returnable!
1Not glass head pinsI did not get the pins pictured. I have been using them since they seemed ok, but my iron just melted one. Not only do they snag going into fabric, but they are most certainly not glass head pins. I ve ordered this exact same product from amazon before and gotten pins that lasted me years, but what I received is a very poor quality product and not what was advertised. Don t hesitate to return them if you get anything other than what is pictured.
