What a deal on these pots. They are the same quality as All Clad, but much more reasonably priced. I cooked scrambled eggs in one of the frying pans I bought and it was like cooking with Teflon. The eggs did not stick or burn. They were perfect. These pots are a bargain worth getting.
5It's everything promised - how often does that happen?
I purchased one of these in October 2014 and now it is January 2016 so this is no snapshot. After almost daily use I can say I could not be happier with it. Since purchasing it I have also bought one of their saut pans and I am eagerly awaiting a large pot. Why so pleased? For one thing they look as good as they did coming out of the box. For another they perform perfectly - no hot spots. The saut took seasoning like a champ. But lastly, I live on a very limited income and what seems a casual purchase for most people is a big decision for me. I'm not a gusher, the product is really that good. I'd them up against much more expensive cookware (and I have owned them) anytime.
5I plan to buy the rest of the set.
I have to say that I was on the fence about purchasing this pot because I had read reviews complaining that it wasn't non-stick and that it was difficult to clean. I can't imagine what these reviewers were cooking. This is an awesome pot.Let's start with the obvious - it's really pretty. The lid fits nicely and the hardware is secureIt's a nice size and weight. And it cleans super easy. I'm talking everything from sauces to soup to oatmeal. If you're cooking something sticky, a 5 minute soak is all you need to restore the beauty of this pot.I'm a fan and plan to buy the rest of the set.
5a sturdy, well contructed pan
I bought this 6.5 Quart Saucepan to go along with an induction cooktop by the same company. To test it out though I tried it with cubed chicken breast on an electric stove, which in lesser quality pans usually causes hotspots and results in some chicken underdone, some overdone. I was impressed that the Duxtop pan heated evenly and the chicken was consistently cooked over the entire surface of the pan. When it came time to add a sauce and up the heat for reduction, it also performed well but I did need to watch the heat as not to have anything stick or burn, normal for a new pot though. The handles stayed pretty cool and I did not need to use pot holders. This is a fairly heavy pan for the money - about $27 as an Amazon Warehouse Deal and not sure I'd pay more than that considering the lid. The lid is VERY thin and does not sit exactly flush across the top of the pot; a little bend to it so it allows some steam to escape. Not a deal breaker for me. Attractive shiny finish is a plus - looks great on the stove. Deglazed and cleaned up with very little effort. Will update with induction cooking results.Overall, so far, pleased with this purchase.01/29/21 UPDATE: I have used this pan on the Duxtop Induction Cooktop to create an Asian stir fry with noodles. The pan heated quickly at the default setting which is 5; I raised the heat in increments to 10 and used peanut oil to help avoid smoking. It seared the chicken very quickly with barely any sticking. Some bits did begin to brown and coat the bottom of the pan. As I added four tablespoons of Thai fish sauce the brown bits quickly released and the pan deglazed very easily. The rice noodles did not stick until the very end when I allowed them to sit just a little too long while getting plates. Once the pan was empty I added a cup of water to it while it was still warm and the remaining noodles came loose easily. Cleanup was quick and only required a scrubbie sponge.
I LOVE this pot!!! I chose this pot because I was looking for a large tri-clad pot but couldn't bear the idea of paying so much for a brand-name item. This pot is sturdy, heavy (in a good way), and works beautifully for sauteeing, searing, and making soups. I cook a batch of something for lunch in this pot once a week and it is great. I often choose this pot over the dutch oven because it's much lighter, but has a great thick bottom that cooks evenly and gets very hot when needed. The handles are pretty ergonomic although beware, they get very hot (as does the lid). If anything sticks (rarely, as long as you cook with enough oil or deglaze the pot before anything starts to burn), it comes up easily with some baking soda. This pot is great and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, high quality pot! Forget those hyped up brand name ones.
5I thought I bought an All-Clad pot. This is a very nice pot at a great price.
After 40+ years of using my copper clad steel Revere Ware pot with one of the Bakelite handles just barely holding on, I broke down and bought this pot. From the photo I thought I was buying an All-Clad and was confused by the very low price. When I received the pot, I thought it was an All-Clad until I read on the box that it wasn't. It's a beautiful functional pot.I've had this pot for about a month or so and I'm extremely happy with it. Riveted handles. Unlike the Revere Ware Bakelite handles, these metal handles can get hot. The bottom of the pot is thick. Much thicker than the old USA made Revere Ware pot.I don't use any abrasive cleaners on the exterior since I want to keep the nice bright shine. I use Bartender's Friend for the interior.Oh, the lid fits perfectly on the 8-quart Instant Pot steel pot.
5Lid gets hot be careful
I love Secura, have lots of their stainless steel products in my kitchen. However the lid on this cookware gets very hot, I feel I need to warn people since nobody warned me in the reviews when I was reading through them. The quality of this saucepan is very good, it's on par with other stainless steel products from Secura. But they really messed up with the lid handle.Regarding the lid handle, first you'll pickup the lid then start to feel it getting hotter by the seconds. You go to sit it down on the counter, flip it upside down like you would usually...then realize the lid handle is so short, you end up burning the back of your hand while sitting the lid down. Then when you're done and need to pickup the lid again, you get burned again trying to get ahold of the tiny, short handle. So caution, when using this cookware, use oven mitts. If Secura is reading, please improve the design by making the handle stand up higher at the very least. Otherwise, this is a great product that is durable and easy to clean.
3Outstanding value and wonderful product.
I love this product and may buy other sizes to replace my current pots. I replaced a decent stainless pan (at least I thought it was!), which I had seriously overheated several times by forgetting about it on the stove. Turns out, that old pot was welded to a thick aluminum bottom, and the excessive heat had caused the pot to start separating from its bottom! THIS pot is all one piece, and it is beautiful! Gorgeous finish. Smooth. Satiny. My husband even commented on how nice it is, and he never notices ANYTHING! Additionally, the product curves gently into the bottom, making getting every last bit of sauce or whatever (and making clean up) a breeze! No corners for food to get stuck in. LOVE that idea! Only complaint is that the visually-well-designed handle might be a bit thicker and LESS rounded to make grasping a full pot easier.
5Love it! Buying the set now.
We just replaced our range with an Induction model. A couple of our pans were going to work, but most would not. I looked at the inexpensive Duxtop set, but was afraid I wouldn't like it. The feel of the handle can be so personal. I checked out all of the pans available locally and found I didn't like any of them. I ordered the one pan as a test to see how it looked and felt. It is great! To all appearance, it is well made and well finished. It works great on the the induction top too. I will be getting the whole set momentarily.
5Solid Stainless Steel Saucepan, Though Lacking in Features
This is a well-constructed, simple stainless steel saucepan. It's very durable and easy to use. It's made of quality materials, and it looks and feels great. It's somewhat lacking in features, however. There isn't anything preventing the handle from getting hot, so you'll probably need to use a cloth when handling this saucepan. The lid isn't glass and doesn't have ventilation holes.
