Love the handle so you do not get burned. 5Newly widowed and downsizing, perfect for my needsI had a similar set years ago, but they all disappeared one by one. I am cooking for just myself now and needed a set for the microwave. Saw these and they are perfect. They hold a surprising amount, the grab tabs don't get in the way as turntable rotates in small microwave, and are easy to hold and remove dish from microwave. If you heat items in 30 second increments and stir well, you should not have issues with lids blowing off. Also, vent the lids, but just sit them on top, don't push them down for a tight seal, it isn't necessary to keep splatters from happening. Use the three largest the most, but smaller two are useful for heating dip or small amount of sauce. So easy to clean, just wipe out or give them a quick wash by hand. They never make it to the dishwasher, they are in use three meals a day!5They're just ok.Even with the vent holes open, I have had the lids to blow off in the microwave. Then I have to clean the thing (microwave).The handles don't get hot so that's an awesome feature.Would I buy them again? Not with the current design. The largest one can take a kid-size slice of pizza, the smallest one can take goldfish crackers. We liked them enough we bought two more sets so my wife and I could also have them for veggies and dip.The lids are a nice bonus for storing food in the fridge, or for keeping flies off stuff outside on the picnic table.I agree that the vent holes are a bit small, and we blew the lids off microwaving in them so we don't really use them for that. They are dishwasher safe. They hold up well to soups and cheese dips, though, so heat doesn't seem to be a big issue. They're great for single servings and have held up well; the rubber (plastic?) sealer rings on the lids sometimes come loose or need to be removed for a thorough cleaning but so far I've always been able to slip them back on and they work as intended. Think these dishes have been one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon.5Microwave Safe?Not sure if these are really microwave safe? After one 1 minute use in microwave, there is white discoloration and melted marks in the bowl. The food was not even heated up and we hand washed it.1Not worth the moneyThese bowls are very small and shallow. They would be more useful if they were at least one inch deeper. The handles are tiny and very hard to hold onto with food in them. They do get rough inside when used in the microwave for just 1-2 minutes. I only use the lids when storing food in the fridge. I would not store anything liquid in them because the lids are not leak proof. They just stay on and that s it and I ve never put the lids in the microwave either. The smallest two bowls are too small for anything except maybe a dipping sauce or for making Jello or pudding for one. I mainly just use them for eating out of because the lids do not fit very tight for storage.3My new Microwave tools These are perfect tools to use in our newly installed microwave. The problem is having enough microwavable wares to support the variety of cooking - a bowl of hot cereal to a pot of soup or casserole. These Evelot storage and cooking lidded containers are unique to all the other microwave safe bowls with lids that I shopped. These are meant for cooking as well as storage (in refrigerator or freezer ) which can be done with many others but NOT with cooking with the lid left on. Evelot has created a cookware with a venting device on top of each lid so I can steam away and have a splatter-free reheat. Having grown up observing mom demonstrating how to lock in freshness with the burp at her Tupperware parties I am always judging how well a product keeps the air out and the food in. These do the job very well. The lids fit very tightly and I can hear the seal as I push the top on. I am also in favor of the size selection Evelot includes in this package. The graduated sizes allow for space-saving and clean-cabinet stacking. Just place the lid of each container directly underneath the container inside the next-larger container, the smallest container on top in a nesting fashion. I will keep my eye out for other innovations and Evelot microwave-safe cookware.
