It's rusting out! - concerned about metals poisoningLeast expensive one because the bottom pan's bottom is not layered with aluminum or copper. But it doesn't have to be.6/2/16 Update: This pot still works for me. But the metal has turned a very dark grey in the upper pan. The lower pan has white mineral deposits that won't come off (as they do with my other stainless steel pans). It's looking pretty nasty. Still works. But the steel it's made of is very low grade.7/23/16 Update: The lower pan has developed brown rust all around the edges where the top pan fits in. The bottom of the pan is rusting too. It's rusting out!7/29/16 I am concerned about metals poisoning. The cooking pan has turned almost black. Lord knows what it's made of. I'm getting rid of it.1A quality double boiler for a great priceI bought this double pot boiler to make CBD oil with. The final product is a sticky gooey substance when boiled down. I have used the pot several times and never had a problem cleaning the pot afterwards. I'm very happy with the quality of this product, especially for how low the price is.5QualityVery low cost quality. U get what u pay for. My regular double boiler s copper base with a ceramic insert and copper cover. This will be used only when we need 2 boilers. Have only used it once, and u have to be attentive, as is not at all forgiving like my regular is.3Great for heating milk for yogurt I make my own yogurt and to heat the 1 qt. of milk I have been using a large 2.5 qt Caliphon pot which required constant stirring. This is perfect because it doesn't require the constant stirring, even though the metal is thin and I'm not sure about the true capacity ( probably wouldn't put more than 1 1/2 qt. if I planned to stir it). I use a cheap infrared thermometer I bought at Harbor Freight (wait for specific coupons or 20 or 25% off coupons) to monitor the temperature. It saves a lot of time because I don't have to keep the electric stove on low heat and stir constantly. With this I just put the 'burner' on high. When the steam starts to come out the side I check the temp and it's up to about 170F. Kill the heat and it will coast up to the 180F required to sterilize the milk before you let it cool to the 108-112F so you can add the culture. 5... double boiler because I was looking for a model like this in stainless steelI purchased this double boiler because I was looking for a model like this in stainless steel. It most definitely is NOT stainless steel. It is a thin cheap metal. In the heating process it turns white sauces into grey. It forms a black thick almost like rust when you heat things. I do not recommend it and it should not be listed as stainless steel. Very cheaply manufactured.1Low qualityWish I never bought these pand. They are so thin and light, food burns easily through them and pan turns a metallic blue.... health concern? Don't be fooled by The weight of the package, its the glass lid that is actually very nice.1Extremely flimsyMade out of very thin steel. Like, sheet metal thin. It's so thin that when my husband turned off the heat, the contraction of the water vapor in the lower vessel was able to exert enough vacuum force to suck the top part in. The handle, which is spot welded on, broke off as we were attempting to separate them. I had to heat it up on a camp stove to separate them so I could throw it in the recycle bin.1Good quality. Every cook needs one.Great quality and turned out to be the perfect gift. My niece had asked if I had a double boiler so she could melt chocolate Co reed peanut butter balls. If the peanut butter and cherry nugget candies are any indication of quality thi double boiler is outstanding!5Happy buyer with updatesI've used these pots at least 2 dozen times now since I purchased them a few months back and they still look brand new. Some of the reviews mention the pots start to corrode or the handles loosen up, but I haven't had that issue. They are easy to clean, light weight and the price is very competitive compared to other similar items on the market.8/2/19 update - I m still using these on a daily basis and they practically look brand new still. Of course I ve been giving them a good wash each time but I couldn t be more happy with it.5I am very happy to have a great kitchen asset to my addition of cookware! 5*'s all the way around!I received my broiler within a week before the expected delivery date. I absolutely Love to Cook and bake for my family. Let's face it, family and friend's plus the party's pretty much revolve around food. I've never had a double broiler. I opened it Christmas morning and I have used it just about everyday since December 25th 2015! Not only is it a complete life saver for cheese dip. I have melted chocolate for dipping delightful treats. It's lighter than I thought it would be, so makes for easiest sufficient cooking product and cleans up with a wash with hot water, add a easy wash rag and dish soap....pretty much cleans itself! I'm so glad to have this! I love it. I absolutely would recommend this to all my friends and family members! I have been researching and looking for a double broiler for months and the prices of some are unbelievable! I'm so glad that I didn't settle for the first one to find, every time I found one they where over $150.00. I absolutely love this one and $20 can't beat that, plus the quality is GREAT!5Great double boiler This 3 piece unit is great! The tempered glass lid fits on both pans! They are lighter weight stainless steel but that is what I wanted. I can't lift heavy pans due to a bad wrist injury. But nothing "light duty" about this double boiler! Well made, well packaged, fast delivery. I have melted chocolate for cookies and brownies, and made Clotted Cream for my homemade Scones! Perfect!! Highly recommend this unit, works well for me. 5Broke during first use.The handle came off midway thru first use. I wasn't able to lift the top pan off the boiling water. Not only was it defective but dangerous.1
