Love this! This came just as pictured and I couldn t be happier. Comes with screws/anchor set which was just what I needed as there were no studs where I hung this. I did see in other reviews people complained about having to unscrew to change the rolls, I m not sure if that s for the other colors but I ordered the antique white and it s just a pop in and pop out to change the roll like any normal toilet paper holder so no complains on that. I absolutely love this as it stands out and looks elegant. 5I'm so happy I purchased this! I love this toilet paper holder! It's heavy and very sturdy. Other reviewers commented that their item came without screws or hangers of any sort. Mine came with screws and anchors perfect for holding such a sturdy piece. It's not pure white, mostly because of the heavy distressing. If you want the distressed look, you'll love this! Personally, I'm going to dry-brush a couple of layers of white just to make it stand out a little more against my paint, but that's entirely personal preference. It would look great in the bathroom as it is, but I have a much brighter white towel holder and I want the colors to match a little more closely. It is a bit unusual to have to unscrew the bar to change the toilet paper, but it's really not difficult at all. It literally only takes a few extra seconds (maybe 15 seconds) instead of the almost-instant change you can do with a regular roll holder. Not a big deal at all. If I later have problems with unscrewing it, I will probably just put a regular plastic roll-holder in place of the metal bar included with this. I really don't see any negatives at all in this product. I love it! 5The item arrived quickly and is lovely. It is ... The item arrived quickly and is lovely. It is quite heavy, but wall anchors did the trick. We had to use our own heavier screws. Sadly, the bar that holds the TP was slightly bent, which prevented unscrewing it to load the tissue. The process of putting toilet paper on the rod took about 5 minutes and I had to get my husband to do it! We discarded the original rod and used the ugly plastic one from our previous holder. Works well enough. The metal original couldn't be bent back straight without serious tools or heat. Disappointing, as it is a unique design which adds character to our powder room. 3Toilet rod extremely tight..will not unscrew. Rod is frozen in toilet rod holr This item is beautiful, yet not functional. The hole where the toilet rod goes in is very tight to unscrew. I held a thick wash rag in place to help me uncrew the rod and it didn't help. A rag was placed around the toilet rod at one end and a wrench was used to try to disengage rod. Nothing happened. One more idea is to spray the hole with D40 and let it sit for awhile. If this doesn't work, the product will be returned. So many products made in China turn into a nightmare to install. There is nothing like Americans creating products for ones home. The pride and the guarantee that the customers are satisfied with what they bought. 1too hard for the elderly to use This is a nice decorative TP holder, however I bought it for my mother's bathroom and she can not unscrew the rod even after I applied some grease. I did dry brush on some paint to match her other cast iron "aged" utilities, and painted some screws. Mine did not come with screws. I will really hate to replace the rod with a spring loaded, but it may be the only resolve, as I am not familiar with cast iron tools. There are enough reviews I see now about the rod trouble to prompt the seller to have the items corrected, so I am displeased with their quality control team. 3Poor Faux finish on this Not overly impressed. I do not believe this is any kind of cast iron. It is solid metal, but its probably a zinc based cast. The threads are touchy and could easily be destroyed by cross threading on the paper holder. The metal is soft. The base color is not a blackened iron, its a bright zincy silver. This was then sprayed with a faux rust paint that is basically a flat terracotta kind of color. That is then slightly hit here and there with a swab of black paint. The overall effect is pinkish. So, since it didnt match my current iron and oiled bronze bathroom, 1st I used a little sand paper to remove some pink hoping black might be under. It wasn't. Under a very thin layer of faux pink rust is bright silver. I then used a black sharpie and paper towel to darken it. Didn't have paint handy. This was better but not great. Today I added more sharpie. Its better but not what I expected out of the box since it claims to be cast iron. I took two photos. One after 1st blacking, one after 2nd. I didnt think to take one of the out of the box almost mauve version although the 1st image they show of a solid pinky "rust" color is about spot on. 3Beautiful Product but the Roller is Tedious to Open for Roll Changes I purchased this for a recent bath remodel and it looks very beautiful when installed. It is graceful and high quality. The only thing I don t like about it is that the roller is one of those old fashioned, screw-in models which is very tedious to open so you can change toilet paper rolls when needed. I am absolutely NOT KIDDING when I tell you that it takes a full FIVE MINUTES to change a roll of toilet paper!But no worries because I found a replacement roller that fits well and looks awesome with this holder. MODONA STAINLESS STEEL Replacement Toilet Paper Roller - Rubbed Bronze - 5 Year WarranteeI simply discarded the roller that came with this holder and replaced it with a roller that is also beautiful and it takes 5 SECONDS to change the toilet paper.I m really satisfied with my purchase, but if you want a convenient way to change the toilet paper you will have to add $10.00 to the cost in order to purchase a roller that is more functional. 4Pretty, good quality, but hard to change the TP roll This is a heavy duty, quality piece, and it's pretty. Unfortunately, mine was almost impossible to unscrew, extremely difficult unless you have strong thumbs or a vice grip or something. My family members don't change the roll as it was with the spring loaded TP holder. For sure, no one was going to be changing the roll on this beautiful holder. It's unfortunate. I would've ordered another one, but some of the other reviewers had the same issue so I was worried about getting another one with the same issue. I got a white one and at first had trouble figuring out how to get the bar out to put a roll of paper on it. Simple though, it just unscrews. I ordered 2 I don't usually review products , but I am going to on this one . First of all I love it . I ordered 2 , one for my toilet, and one to hang my hand towel on . They are just the look I wanted . Very heavy duty . But I wish I read all of the reviews before I ordered with my heart instead of my brain . What good is a toilet paper roll holder if you cannot get the rod off to put the paper on. It look a lot of muscle to finally unthread one of them . The other won't budge . But that is ok because I am just hanging a towel off of it . Also I am not nuts over having to thread it like a screw ( which it won't now ) . Kind of a pain in the butt . No pun intended . I will keep them . But I am disappointed . 2
