    Salad plates were not pattern pictured! I bought these dishes to use for Christmas as I needed a few more place settings of this pattern. I was disappointed with the salad plates that I received with my order, they were not the pattern pictured! They were pretty but had a spring scene on them, trees with pink blossoms. They were much larger than the salad plates I have with my original dishes. 2I really do love this. What I did note was that some ... I really do love this. What I did note was that some of the pieces are brighter in color than others. From what I have looked online the original place settings were made in England and have a very sharp and distinct color. The yellows, for instance are very lemon yellow. In this setting the yellow is more like a light yellow. and the other colors are more muted but I think I almost prefer the lighter colors and the newer version is microwavable and dishwasher safe. It says England on the back but I have read in other places that they are not made in England and instead made in China - all I can tell you about where it is crafted is what it says England on the back of some of the place settings.What I did find strange is that the large plates and soup bowls are a more muted color but some of the other pieces are a brighter color and almost looks like they don't belong together - but like I said I really like it, so can overlook that as well, but it just seemed strange - I am used to all pieces being the same color or tone. 5I LOVE THESE DISHES I LOVE THESE DISHES!! PERFECT FOR THE COUNTRY RUSTIC LOOK. I'VE ALWAYS LOVED LOOKING AT THE SCENES. MY SET HAS CONSISTANT COLORS, AND SEEM WELL MADE. THEY ARE VERY USABLE AS THEY ARE MICROWAVE AND DISHWASHER SAFE. THEY COME IN THEIR OWN BOX AND ARE VERY WELL PACKAGED. I'M HOPING TO GET ANOTHER SET(WHEN I CAN SAVE UP ENOUGH) TO HAVE A SET OF EIGHT FOR EVERYDAY USE INSTEAD OF ONLY FOUR. ( THE COLORS ARE A BIT MUTED BUT I PREFER THAT TO THE BRIGHTER COLORS THAT I THINK WOULD LOOK TACKY). 5Great Present These are made in China as other reviews have stated. I have never seen a true Johnson Brothers Friendly Village place setting so I can not speak how these compare to them. What I can tell you is I bought 4 sets of these for my parents as a Christmas gift. These are beautiful. There may be a slight difference in the vibrancy of colors from one setting to the next (you have to be looking for it) and one plate was noticeably lighter than the others. One place setting did arrive broken. I mailed it back, free returns with Amazon prime, and was immediately sent a replacement which arrived perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these again. They look great, cheap but don't look it, for everyday use, and easy to replace. Plan on buying more of their Friendly Village collection. Thanks! 4Bummer I have wanted this teapot for years. Like most, the "made in China" label disturbs me. I tried to research online areas of concern: recall notices, quality control policies for Johnson Brothers but can't find any information. I will keep the teapot but will enjoy it less because of its origin. This, with regret, will be my last "Friendly Village" purchase. Also, the item was packed loosely in the box from Johnson Brothers. It fell from top to bottom as I removed it form the box but arrived in excellent condition. 4Beautiful 40oz. Tea Pot This item was due 8/19/2013, I received it today, 8/16,2013. Very prompt shipping by USPS. Item was well packed, and arrived in excellent condition.I've just finished rinsing it out after filling it with 4 cups of boiling water, and letting it set for 30 minutes. No leaks whatsoever with this one piece construction. The lid has a nipple on it to help hold it in place while pouring, and it pours perfectly. Tested the temp, and it was still 120*F.This Johnson Bros Village Teapot holds exactly 40 ounces of water. That's more that 6, 6oz teacups. I usually don't make more than 3 cups, so this little pot will do just fine. Thanks Amazon. 5A Little Disappointed I do like my new Johnson Brothers Friendly Village 28-Piece Set I purchased from Amazon, but did not like the fact they were made in China. I was also somewhat disappointed in the brilliance of the colors compared to a few pieces I have of this same pattern that were made in England. I shall continue to look for pieces that were made in England as this is a beautiful pattern that displays beautifully and with warmth in one's kitchen. 4Made Poorly As much as I love these dishes, I am dissatisfied with the quality of this collection. Two of the bowls are poorly made. One can see from the photos that the bowls are unbalanced, crooked and do not stack properly. These dishes are a family favorite and I was very happy to receive this set as a Christmas gift, however, they are clearly not made the way they used to be. 2Not completely in love with it I absolutely love the pattern , however, mostly the winter scene. The rest are kind of meh... I wish that there was an option of choosing the season rather than getting set of 4 seasons, doesn't entirely work for me. I bought this set for holidays, especially Xmas so I feel like the rest of bowls and plates that are not wintery , just clash. I was about to send it back. Growing on an idea of keeping it.Also what I'm disappointed about is the fact that my winter plates are lighter in color, less saturated , than the rest. They ,at very least, should be all the same when it comes to color. I'll try to attach photo below to show the difference. 3They're okay if the price is deeply discounted They are okay for replacement pieces, but of the two sets I received through Amazon, one set was much more washed out / faded looking than the other set, which wasn't as vibrant as the originals anyway. There are also flaws on the saucer where the picture is off center and part of the picture near the barn (right about where the cup sits) is missing all together - almost like a peel off tattoo you apply and part of the design doesn't adhere to your skin. Lastly, they are thinner at the edges and feel a little lighter than the original pieces I have. Overall, their purpose will be served as replacement and "use first" pieces so that they run a higher risk of breakage than the original pieces that I now realize need to be carefully preserved. 3
