Two years after purchaceThese are indeed great cups, BUT, two years after purchase I am definitely seeing signs of wear. The finish on the inside of the cup is dull and not smooth anymore and thus they are much more difficult to clean and seem to be staining a little. At first I thought this was due to the dish washer, but the outside of the cups and saucers still have a great finish, so it must be the acidity of the espresso over time. Or at least that's my theory. I wouldn't let this change your mind about buying them but you wash them right after use to help this.4very good for Cappucino & LatteThe cups themselves are probably worth 5 stars and the price is very good. They arrived, from Amazon, in perfect condition. Some other buyers here reported defects. Mine were perfect. But, they are a little large for traditional sized lattes. The usual Italian style recommendation for a latte or cappuccino is "6 ounces".Seattle style lattes are often 10 - 12 ounces. It is a matter of taste and preferences.I prefer 6 ounces.Because many other people stated that these were 8 ounces and the description, both at Amazon and at the manufacturer's web site stated that they were only 6 ounces, I ordered them.Amazon has since changed the description on the site to 8 ounces.I decided to measure the actual size using a digital scale.I put the cup on the scale, zeroed the scale and filled them with water. The water content weighed 8 ounces. Not 6 as claimed.I then took some existing cappuccino cups that I had and liked and measured them. I had thought they were 6 ounce sizes. Wrong. The weight of the water that filled them up was 7 ounces. That means that these cups are a little larger than expected but not as large as I thought when it turned out that they held 8 ounces of water. The solution for me, is to fill them up to just below the rim.Now an important aside. Why does the manufacturer claim 6 ounces when they are really 8?The answer is that ounces are sometimes a measure of weight and sometimes a measure of volume.Steamed milk is not as dense as water. That means that steamed cappuccino milk that has a bigger volume than water of the same weight.I think that 6 ounces by weight of steamed milk for cappuccino has about the same volume as 8 ounces of water of unsteamed milk.As to those other cups that I had that had been advertised as 6 ounces but actually held 7 ounces of water, they also held less by weight of steamed milk.Another point. I have the doppio espresso cups from the same manufacturer. They are excellent. The manufacturer and Amazon claim they are 3 ounces. I weighed them. They hold exactly 3 ounces of water.4Nice set of 4I needed a compact set to make cappucinos from my Krups home espresso machine. These fit the bill perfectly. Nothing fancy. Just a well balanced, nicely finished cup and saucer. No history with durability yet but will update later if there's a problem. If you want purely espresso cups, there is a smaller set from this same manufacturer.5Second Set for our homeThese are great quality. We bought our first set over a year ago and just bought an additional set to add for guests. Nice substantial cups and saucers that do not chip easily. Great buy for the price5Great Cappuccino cups!My Konitz cappuccino cups and saucers arrived in lightening fast speed today! They fit perfectly under the filter/coffee holder (De'Longhi EC155) unlike my regular small size teacups where I had to tilt them to get them in and out, the Konitz fits perfectly! They have such a wonderful weight to them, the handles are a nice size, even men would like the size. They are not flimsy dainty little things that a man would not use, these are a nice size. I love the color, they are not stark white, not grey, not muddy, not cream, but I think just a nice pleasing kind of off white and it's such a pretty color, I just love them! They have a pleasing shine too, and I can't wait to use them! Plus they are made in Germany, not a rush rush mass produced Chinese cheap import. You can tell these are high quality. I didn't get any with chips, pits, dents, black flecks, or whatever, they arrived perfect!5Cappuccino Cups with Saucers, White, 4ctI bought these cups for my kids and I to drink hot cocoa and hot tea from. They are the perfect size for small hands. At first I didn't think I'd need or want the saucers, but they have really helped contain kids messes. 6 ounces is the right amount of liquid for these cups without looking like you're walking a tight rope and it's the perfect amount for the kids too. Packaging was great. The kids actually thought it funny how many boxes we had to open before we actually got to the cups, 3 I believe. I would definitely buy these again and actually plan on buying different styles for my home coffee station.5Worth the price...simple and elegant.I recently purchased a Miele CM5100 coffee maker and I purchased the espresso cups (2 oz) first...the next day I purchased these cups as well as the macchiato cups. The cappuccino cups are much larger than I imagined from the description. Does it make your coffee taste better...no...but it does make your coffee LOOK better. Simple, elegant, tasteful. And purchase some espresso spoons to finish it off. I intend to purchase another set of macchiato cups for a set of four. The price on these...well worth it. Solid without being clunky if that makes any sense.5Solid Cups Are SolidI purchased a Gaggia Classic and needed cups for cappuccino. I bought these as they were a great price and appeared to be more-or-less commercial quality (read: durable). They arrived undamaged and faster than expected, although the box they were shipped in was comically large. They were exactly what I was looking for: basically restaurant cappuccino cups. They are heavy porcelain and feel very solid. I would be shocked if the cups or saucers develop a chip or a crack. As an added bonus, these actually fit under the portafilter of a Gaggia Classic so espresso can be pulled directly into them.5My favorite cups for free-pour latte art cappuccino & single shot lattesI love this set and have ordered many of them as gifts for friends and family. The 6oz cup size is usually for cappuccinos but I use them for single shot lattes and even flat whites. The cups come with excellent quality saucers as well. Both the cups and the soucers are perfect thickness (not too thick and not thin). As far as heat retention, you need to consume your beverage quickly once poured. These don t retain heat like double wall cups but are more durable.I also like these cups for practicing free-pour latte art. The cups fit perfectly in my hand great balance, wide mouth and shallow enough to allow for quickly setting the milk base then allowing the pitcher to come in close to the surface for the micro foam to stay on the surface.I highly recommend this set.5These are the perfect look and size for any cappuccinoWhen I wake up in the early morn' I cant help but immediately think of the Konitz Coffee Bar Cappuccino Cups and Saucers. These are the perfect look and size for any cappuccino, and look great sitting above my espresso machine. These no frills cups are quality, as they are thick porcelain and run no risk of breaking anytime soon. These have gone through many cycles of microwaving and dish washing and show no wear from the day I opened the Amazon box.I honestly couldnt find a better set of cups and saucers if I tried.5
