Works great
This timer is nice and simple. The magnet on the back is super powerful. The sound is clear and a good volume (not too terribly loud, not too quiet). It has worked well for us.
5good and loud alarm, but a poor design on spring clip, which is now broken
the timer works well, but the magnetic spring clip in the back is poorly engineered. OUt of the box, if you use this on e.g. a refridgerator with the magnet, then the timer sticks to the fridge okay, but it is unstable, so that activating it (pushing the buttons) you have to use one had to stabilize it and another hand to push buttons. Designed or engineered slightly differently, this would not be a problem. It is marginally possible to operate the timer with one hand if you have very good dexterity - but regardless, that is a design flaw. I "fixed" that flaw with a simple hack to stabilize the back of the timer, but then after only a month or two, the spring clip with magnet broke off. And it did not break off due to any use of the clip - the spring in the clip puts a certain amount of pressure on the hinge of the clip, even if the clip is holding nothing. Apparently this pressure is enough to tear the hinge apart after only a couple of months. We still use the timer, it is good and loud, but it's not very elegant to have it lying around in the kitchen on the remnants of a broken clip in the back.
2Still functions like the day I got it.
I've used this as a kitchen timer nearly everyday since I bought it in Sept 2015. I don't think I've ever needed to change the battery yet, even though sometimes I leave the stopwatch function running overnight! The magnet has never slid down the fridge on its own. The alarm can be heard from another room over the sound of a TV. It beeps continuously for a minute until you stop it, which is annoying, but effective at being heard. I can't really hear it past two walls, but that's good for my neighbors. There's only a couple of cons I can think of: The first is that holding the minutes and/or seconds button(s) won't count up faster, such as skipping past increments of 5. It's only annoying because the timer will beep past every single number on the way up. The second con is that you can't time anything for more than 99 minutes 99 seconds. I didn't remove any stars from my rating though because I consider both of these cons very minor to me.So overall, if all you need is a simple timer/stopwatch combo that's reliable and lasts, this is a fantastic buy for your money.
5Nice Easy-to-Use Timer with Bold Numbers
I'm not quite sure how to write a review for this item. It's a timer - I needed one to time resin drying so I knew when to add different items and colors. I also needed one for other various household uses. As my kids have reminded me, I could have used a cell phone app as a timer - but there's something about having an actual timer that just makes things easier. (For example, I can set it while I'm on my cell phone and not have to worry about accidentally disconnecting the call.) It's nice to see the time drop down, one second at a time, in big, bold numbers. This timer has a magnet on the back, making it more convenient to hang on a fridge, lamp, metal organizers, etc. There is also a clip on the back that will allow you to put this on your pants, or hang it somewhere. I appreciate it when manufacturers think of things like that, because my table space is always at a premium. This timer is small so it doesn't get in the way. It's lightweight, also. The time is accurate. It uses one AAA battery, which comes with the timer. It is very easy to set - no directions necessary, although they are included. The beeping mechanism (which lets out three-beep rhythms in rapid succession) could be louder, but if you are within the same room (or the next room) you won't have any trouble hearing it. If you are using this to time "time outs" for a young child, and they spend their "time out" period screaming, there's no way you'd hear this. (Just sayin' from experience.) For any reason that doesn't quite reach those decibels, you're golden with this timer. The buttons are easy to push and alarm is easy to turn off.
4NICE, LOW-PRICED, EASY TO USE TIMER,
A useful timer at a cheap price. Simple to operate and it's audible for quite a distance. Of course if it's not loud enough, just take it with you wherever you're going, indoors or outside. The combination built-in stand and magnet are handy features. We store it using the magnet on the side of our microwave. One feature I wonder about is that there's no way to turn off the display; at least I haven't found a way to shut it off except by removing the batteries.
4Excellent, simple timer (and easily modifiable to make beeper barely audible)
Works extremely well.I prefer a very quiet timer to time physical therapy exercises, so I modified mine to bring the volume way down. I removed the four tiny screws in the back of the case, removed the back of the case, and used a pinpoint tweezer to stuff bits of cotton into the hole in the speaker unit, until the sound was at the desired lever. (There is also a hole in the outer case, but it was more effective to stuff the cotton into the speaker unit itself. A pinpoint tweezer allows you to remove cotton if you put in too much.) I performed the modification at my own risk, but it worked.
5Handy for timing intervals
When I'm grilling, I'll often repeat a timed action (3 minutes, flip the burgers, 3 minutes check the burgers, etc). One feature that I like about this timer is that when a countdown finishes, it defaults to the last time setting, making it really easy to do another interval of the same time.
5exactly what I had in mind
I wanted two simple, inexpensive timers that could count seconds up or down and stop and reset easily for timed games for two players. This works perfectly, and seems very sturdy. I am very happy with this purchase.
5Convenient size and easy to read
Convenient size and easy to read. Used in my dental office to time set of impression materials.Magnet a plus as it enabled keeping timer above work space and out of way.
4A
Perfect - seems very well made with a powerful magnet on the rear that holds it in place.Alarm is loud enough to be heard outside the kitchen.
