    Porous surface... Do NOT use liquid chalk pens with these! They don't come off. I had to buy chalkboard paint to paint over these in order to reuse. 2These are very nicely made. I was using regular chalk and then ... These are very nicely made. I was using regular chalk and then found the Allary chalk cartridge set to write on them. I've only used the white chalk on this set, but it works well allowing for a finer print. I learned long ago with chalk markers to be very careful what you use them on as they leave an imprint or don't wipe off at all. I would not use liquid chalk markers on these. I only use liquid chalk markers on acrylic or glass...or something I can repaint with chalkboard paint to cover their stains. I was preparing to purchase another package of these, so I do hope they come back in stock. 5they work best on the back of the plates like others have ... I've tried both front and back methods with chalk markers - knowing it wasn't really designed for that. [What it says is true!!] If you opt for chalk markers, they work best on the back of the plates like others have said. You need to wash and clean it within a decent amount of time, otherwise it will be stuck. I've since opted to keep the metal stands but put those black chalk marker stickers on them.. and write on that. 3They look great! I bought these mini chalkboard pieces to do a DIY project in my twins nursery. They were exactly around the price range that I wanted to spend, so I was very happy about that. When opening the package I noticed that one of them was damaged. It seems as if the wood border around the chalkboard can unstick very quickly, but it is an easy fix and really not a big deal to me. None of the other ones have had any of this damage, but now I am very careful with the way I handle them. I highly recommend these if you are doing a DIY project, but make sure to have some extra glue on hand if you need to touch up one or two of them! 4Perfect for baskets! Love them to labeling our baskets. He s made the baskets look so much better. And it s super nice to know what s inside without having to look through all the baskets. Especially if somebody else is looking for something. I didn t use chalk this time but I just printed some labels and place them in the middle of the chalk tag and it looks very nice. I might change it up later and use a chalk pen. I I was really happy with the quality. I tied the string through the basket. I would order again. 5Worked for one party - can't get chalk off These did the trick for the party. I used them to label food items. However, I used the liquid chalk and could not seem to get it to come off of these little metal chalkboard stands without some residual lines. I used the same liquid chalk on different chalkboards (hanging rustic signs, also found on Amazon), and it came off easily, so I'm' pretty sure there's something going on with the metal here. I'll still be able to use these by writing over it, but you can see the outline of what I previously wrote. It's not optimal. Picture shown is after scrubbing away at the versachalk. 2Perfect size and quality I ordered these a couple of months ago to use as price signs for my machine embroidery craft show. They are the perfect size and the quality is fantastic. I used a white Bistro chalk market that I also bought on Amazon. The boards cleaned off well with a baby wipe and I re used them. I love them. Will probably buy more for my next show as they are much better than putting up paper signs that get trashed or blow away. The chalkboards can be re used over and over again. 5Super cute metal chalkboard signs I love these little metal chalkboard signs. I wrote cute words on them and placed them around the house. Nice vintage look to them. These would be great for a party, retail store or just to decorate your home. I primed them first by rubbing chalk on them horizontally, then vertically. 5They work perfect for what I need them for I bought these to use as labels for the baskets in my closet so that I can stay organized. They work perfect for what I need them for. I used a chalk pen to write on them and haven't tried wiping them off so I can't say if the chalk pen comes off easily. However I don't plan on erasing them. The strings were a little fragile but didnt break. I threaded it through the basket and tied from behind to keep it in place.Will definitely buy more as I continue to organize my closet. 4A LOT FOR YOUR MONEY I needed mini chalkboards heavy enough not to blow over on a breezy day. I did know the size of these before I bought them but I do wish they were larger - especially since there is some kind of raised border on the front which makes the actual writing area even smaller than the stated size! Three stars for that reason. 3
