Do your homework Very happy clips straight on to my strap on my back back and what's best is they open from the top easy access , just make sure you get the correct size the medium takes my Ray-bans aviator as they fold down flatter ,anything that's slightly wrap around style like large Maui Jim get the large . I've seen many reviews saying there to small so not sure if people realize there are two sizes as they are an excellent product and I couldn't be happier , but if your a military type or search rescue they may not be rugged enough for your requirements but for joe average camper,fisherman , hiker or just chuck then in your bag guy there great .... I have both sizes to keep all my shades safe ... Do your homework and you will happy ... 5this seems to be the best product availableFor my use, this seems to be the best product available. The form factor is good for me. I carry my computer glasses, a large recording pen, a small sharpie, and a small tablet/phone holder in this case. I then wear it on my belt. (Note: I had to create a separator for these items which I did with a cheap plastic placemat.) It is very crush proof and my items are safe inside it, and always with me.Here are my complaints. Since June of 2013, I am now on my third case. The first one lasted 1.5 yrs, then the belt clip simply popped off. The glue and screw that hold it on just gave up. I put a new one into use in December of 2015. It is now April 2016 and the zipper just came apart at the cloth seam.Also, the belt clip doesn't hang on well. If you aren't careful, you will pop the case off your belt and lose it. Since it's rubberized, it doesn't make much noise hitting the ground I solved this problem with a carabiner that clips around my belt, and around the loop on the top rear of this case. (Talk about nerdy looking! It's OK for me because I'm a computer consultant.) This setup saves me from losing this case 2 or 3 times a week.For a ruggedized case, this case has some very weak spots. The problems aren't insurmountable, and the product remains the best one for my usage, but it's a pity this company doesn't step up its game slightly.This is a 90% product.2Rugged (?) Warranty?Rugged (?) glass case is anything but rugged. Protection from dust or dirt; it's great. Protection from crushing; doubtful. Needed for storing glasses in a construction site job setting. Will possibly protect from incidental normal impact, but hard impact (such as a falling over 2 x 4) IMO your glasses nor the case would survive. Belt clip is anything but rugged, more fragile than rugged. Climbing up to the seat of a front loader broke my rugged (?) belt clip. The clip itself is made from brittle plastic, will not stay attached to a pair of jeans or tool pouch without a belt and constantly falls to the ground. This definitely is not the glass case for active construction workers.Nite Ize states that they stand behind each and every product they sell with their warranty. I contacted them and was told by email that Nite Ize took great pride in their warranty and a replacement for my broken case would be delivered in 7 to 10 days; that was over 2 weeks ago.2Very very rugged caseI originally purchased this brand and style of glass case in 2012. this case lives up to its name. This case has rolled around the back of my truck and has been in my tool box rolling around in the back of my truck several times. I have dropped it and kicked it and my glasses are always fine. I do not need to wear my glasses all the time, I just need them for the close up and small stuff. I unzip the case several times a day. The only reason I am replacing it is the zipper finally gave out. The one thing I do like about the new case is it is larger. so when I get new glasses I have more options. as you can see in the picture the one on the left is the one I purchased in 2012. If you are looking for a glass case that can take some abuse, or a lot of abuse, this is the case to get. This case has treated me way better then I have treated it.5Good ProtectionI have an older case that has held up well over the years so I ordered another. These cases are great for protecting your glasses from day to day hazards. Though they certainly aren't indestructible, they're a vast improvement over bags and most other cases. My only disappointment is that the new one is substantially larger than the old model, so while they'll accommodate larger glasses they can no longer be slipped into a pocket unless you have pretty big pockets. Too bad they eliminated the smaller size rather than just adding the larger one to their lineup and giving folk a choice. I ended up attaching a carabiner to the loop and just hook it to a belt loop.4PAY ATTENTION TO WHO YOU ORDER FROM!!!First off I d like to remind people that not all sellers are the same. If your item is not being shipped directly from Amazon, reasearch the seller you plan on choosing. Otherwise you could end up with a product that does not match the description or even worse counterfeit. What I received looked just like the picture & had no strange side zip thing. It is very big, looks kinda ridiculous on me. I m not a big person, so that doesn t help. I guess it can also be attached to a backpack strap, yet still seems too big for my ultra lightweight backpack. It does hold my Oakley s just fine, but I prefer my Peppers case for everyday use. I guess if I was working outdoors for while or maybe a foot taller this might work for me, but that s not the case. I will likely return. I wish it was a bit smaller, they should ve made two sizes.5Excellent.Very nice case for glasses. Solid construction. I wouldn t throw it under a truck tire to test it, but I put the case in my backpack for work, it gets tossed around along with a laptop and various other items and my glasses are safe. The clip has a small hook on the inside at the bottom to help keep the case secure when it s clipped to something. I use this for my eyeglasses, I haven t seen if my Oakley Oil Rigs fit in it yet. My guess is that it s close. One thing that may turn people off to this is that the case is roomy for a standard pair of glasses, so if it does get tossed around, there is a little play for your glasses to get bounced around inside the case. I keep a larger cloth for cleaning glasses in it to minimize the play.Update 11/2/19: pulled into the driveway the other day and see this case laying there. It had been run over, probably by me, it was dirty and rained on but no worse for wear. My glasses weren't in it, so I can't say whether it would have protected them or not, but the case took a beating and appears to be in as good of shape as when I got it.5Buy only if you want to damage or lose your glasses!Terrible design that may result in damage to or loss of your glasses.This item worked fine for a while until the seam which holds the two halves together came apart abruptly. By abruptly I mean the glasses fell out! The "seam" holding the halves together is actually a zipper except there is no tab to zip or unzip. So, when the teeth disengage there is no way to zip it closed.Really? Haven't the manufacturers heard of stitching?Horrible design flaw.1Not the same case I got in 2017...I originally ordered this case over 2 years ago for my sunglasses. I work outdoors, and wanted a safe place to protect them, and my eye glasses when they weren t in use. Being able to clip the case to my belt or to a carabiner was also a huge plus. I definitely use both features daily. After two years of daily use, the zipper on my case finally gave out and it was effectively useless. I immediately went to order another one on Amazon and was met with a marginal price increase in comparison to my original purchase, which is understandable given the length of time between purchases, however the quality of the case is not to the same standard by any means. Note in the image attached, that I am pressing on the cases with the same level of force. The one on the left is the case purchased in 2019, and the right is the one purchased in 2017. You can also see in the generally shape of the opening on the case that the 2019 case is flatter and doesn t hold its form as well as the 2017.Overall, I will still probably use it, but it is definitely not the same quality of product that I was expecting, and will not be purchasing another one in the future.5 stars for the comfort of the new case. It has the same feel when attached to my belt and it doesn t feel cumbersome. 3 stars for the value for your money. I would ve felt more comfortable paying what I paid for the 2019 case for the 2017 case. Better quality of product should mean an increase in price. And finally 2 stars for the durability of the new case. If I m looking for a rugged case that is going to hold up on a job site or outdoor activities, a requirement of that item should be the ability to hold its shape and stand up to outside pressures.3Great case, but zipper failed. I have had this case in use daily hanging from my belt loop since 2013.It is rugged indeed, but the zipper doesn't quite match the case for strength, as it failed after a couple of years.Because the lid basically stays shut, and I take my glasses in and out frequently, I've continued to use it with the broken zipper, and it meets my needs very well. Because of the top opening feature, rather than the most common full zip design, I can drop by glasses in and pick them out with ease. Now, after five years of daily use, the whole unit is getting a bit frayed, and I'll replace it with the same unit one day soon. If the new one comes with an improved and stronger zipper, I'll change the rating to five stars! 4Not RigidThe case looks "rugged", and seems like it'd provide good abrasion protection. However, the case is not completely rigid, and can be pancaked by just squeezing it. I'm giving this 2 stars because I expected greater protection from a case marketing itself as "rugged."2Great case for routine use - very easy recommendation.Perfect solution for my specialized needs. I need something large enough to hold prescription sunglasses and an insulin syringe. This fits the bill beautifully. It's not too big or cumbersome to carry on its own, and it fits easily in a day/laptop/backpack type bag. But it is large enough to fit both items without fear of damage to one or both. LIkewise, the case is just rugged enough - I'm confident it'll protect the contents if/when I drop it, but it's not so rugged as to be heavy or unwieldy. It's also subtle enough in styling so as not to draw attention in a business setting.My favorite feature? The top/vertical opening. So much more convenient for me than more standard eyeglass cases. The built-in microfiber cleaning cloth is nice too - long enough to actually add protection, and since it's attached, it won't go flying when you remove your glasses. I'm really impressed with the design and configuration of this case.If you truly need something ruggedized - public safey, construction work, rigorous hiking or other recreation - this isn't the item for you. But for routine use, it is much better than any standard glasses case I've seen, and for anyone who needs to store a little extra something, the large size is just large enough.5
