A heavy-duty muffin pan to stand up to years of useI'm a huge fan of Nordic Ware, and not because I'm a brand loyalist, but because their products have been consistently high-quality. We decided to rid our kitchen of as much non-stick surfaces as we could, and so I replaced my old non-stick muffin tins with these 100% aluminum tins. This pan is super-heavy duty and very sturdy feeling. I like that, if I bake a particularly messy muffin, I can take steel wool to this to clean it and not have to worry about damaging any coating.It is worth noting that they are a little on the small size. When I lined them with baking cups to make muffins, I found that the cups did not fit very well until they were weighed down with muffin batter, and even then, they sometimes crinkled into the muffin itself. Not a problem at all in terms of baking or flavor, of course, but if you're a stickler for aesthetics (I'm not) be aware that your muffin papers may be a little distorted. Of course, the easy solution to this (in some cases) is to just grease your pan really well and not use paper cups altogether.5Nordic is the Best!This muffin pan made the best and most evenly baked muffins ever in the history of my muffin baking. I make most of my muffins from scratch. After using two old pans from years ago that were not baking evenly, and the bottoms would stick no matter how much spray oil I applied, I finally woke up and bought this fabulous muffin pan. I have two of their oblong cake pans and they are also the best I have ever had in my kitchen. I am very pleased and highly recommend Nordic baking products.5It baked beautifully. So, I have looked MANY places to find a light colored aluminum muffin pan that is also heavy weight for durability, and does not have a coating. I ordered 2 of these as a gift, and they arrived in 3 biz days during peak Christmas season. When they arrived I was so hoping they would meet my expectations, and they have!!! There are really nice quality pans, and I was also pleasantly surprised to see that they are molded in one unit, so there are no grooves by each muffin cup like most pans have. I was hoping this also would be the case, but could not quite tell from the photo if it was or not. But this will make clean-up a breeze!!! This pan is made from a nice shiney aluminum so it will never rust. It is also supported at the rim with heavy steel that is completely encapsulated in aluminum, so this will stay nice looking as well...but is also durable. Time will tell if they bake muffins well, I will try to remember to update performance later...but am just so thrilled that in the quality of construction of these pans, that I wanted to share right away. I may just have to splurge and replace my own muffin pan. 5Also accidentally spilled into unused cup so I had one with no oil and no paper which came out pretty easily with a little "edgiWanted to get away from dark pans because my muffins and cakes were ALWAYS burning and non-stick is a lie. Baked first batch of banana muffins today. No burn. Not crispy either but I think that was the recipe, 2 bananas for 1 cup flour, not the pan. Baked evenly because the pan is the right size to stay away from the oven walls. Turned 1/2 way thru as always. Oiled a few and used paper cups on a few. Also accidentally spilled into unused cup so I had one with no oil and no paper which came out pretty easily with a little "edging" with a spatula. Mine also had a large scratch under the factory protective paper. Cleaned up pretty easily. Stating with 4 stars. Will run another batch or twenty and revisit review. That being said, not waiting to replace my cake pans.4Read my review because it has pros and cons, it is all about what you want.I really wanted to love this pan, and don't let me stop you from getting it. It has tons of pros, but one con really gets to me.Pros -hasn't rusted even a little after tons of washes and usefits standard muffin cups nicelymuffins and cupcakes both rise nicelystacks well for storagecons -The edge is very narrow and hard to grab to pull out of the ovenTo make that issue worse the material does not slide easily out of the oven. We have many pans from many brands, but this particular one has a lot of friction with the oven grate that other pans don't have.3Sturdy well made muffin pan The quality on this pan is superb. It cleans up easy and looks professional.Pros: Quality made, sturdy and should last a lifetime. It cleans so easily and can take abuse in a hectic kitchen. Very professional build and quality.Cons: Its not that deep. I wouldn't say mini muffins, but not full size muffins like you would see in a store. Also It seems that the bottom of the muffins doesn't always get cooked fully. Not raw but noticeably softer then in previously owned pans. I've played with the racks in the oven, adjusted cooking time and temps even used different liners (and no liners) and it seems hit or miss.Overall: It's a great pan and I use it (and will use it) often. Nordic ware makes some great bakeware and this is no exception. 4Great value for an excellent muffin tin I bought these for my granddaughter. They are a wonderful one solid piece of metal. No,rims welded in tomcatch batter and make cleaning a nightmare. The cups are closer together than some other tins but not a problem. They are sturdy, solid...very well made. The price is good and the size a bit smaller than mine but will fit nicely side by side in many ovens....I am so pleased I have yomresist buying a set for me since I already have 3 very expensive tins. Wish they were one solid piece of metal. 5Great quality, heavy duty, and super easy to clean!These are a Commercial heavy duty quality and are super easy to clean. I bought two of the 12 count muffin pans. We made pineapple upside down individual cakes in these. We didn't use cupcake or silicone cupcake holders. We just used cooking spray in and around each cup..We did notice that these being light colored and non stick needed a bit more time baking than the non stick pan did. I always have had non stick pans, so I never knew that. They still turned out great and the clean up was super easy. It's just a fast handwash and dry.I like not having to worry about the non stick coming off like it does with some non stick pans. I will be buying a couple more of these muffin pans. They are also a great gift idea.5Good, consistent bakingBought my first Nordic Ware muffin pan 15 or so years ago and it is still going strong. Bought another one just because I needed a second one. Non stick may be cheaper, but they sure don't last as long. I get reliable browning and cooking every time with these. I don't really need to rotate them, but I do anyway because directions always say to do that.5You are not getting the type of pan advertisedThis was not a mini muffin pan. The wells are much wider and very shallow... more like a mini pie pan. The quality of the product is excellent, but it s not as advertised at all. I had to check the pictures in the ad to make sure I wasn t crazy. The pictures show a mini muffin pan. I put photos up comparing it to an actual mini muffin pan to show the significant difference.1Stop looking and stick to all things Nordic Ware!Nordic Ware pans are the best pans. Stop looking and just buy this brand in everything you possibly can. Don't leave them sitting to soak. Just wash them. Otherwise they tarnish (does not affect the quality of the pan). If you like your pans looking shiny and new as these came, wash them after they've cooled but don't allow them to soak. They cook incredibly even and all of my muffins just pop out. I've given this as a gift to my niece and myself.5Great if you don't use mini cupcake liners, or want wider mini cupcakes/muffinsI totally agree with phoebe*philmson's review of October 21, 2012. This is NOT a mini muffin pan. Wish I had read the review in more detail, but I was rushing. The cups on this pan are wider than normal/average mini muffin pans. I donated all of my nonstick cook and bake ware due to now having added parrots to our family (fumes from non-stick products, even oven liners and some ovens, in general, can KILL PARROTS and are probably no so good for humans and other living beings, too). So I needed to replace my items with aluminum and I used this mini pan for the first time yesterday. I was so disappointed as soon as I went to put the paper liners in and realized that I was correct, and these cups were not standard sized. Now I will need to find another one to buy and just use this strictly for muffins and not cupcakes, which I make much more often than muffins.2Best pan - really!! I bought one of this pan from a discount store and it is a wonderful pan, so I ordered a second from Amazon. I've used them several times and they still look brand new. They are very heavy and will not warp. Nothing has stuck at all, everything has popped right out and cleaning it is easier than the nonstick pans I've used in the past. Baked items brown beautifully, and I am simply delighted with these pans. I'm actually thinking of ordering the matching cake pans even though I just bought new nonstick ones, because these pans will definitely last longer and are healthier to use. Highly recommend this line of pans! 5
