A great kitchen tool to simplify and speed up your process.This thing is awesome. Made of a thick, quality silicone, it feels like it's made to last. This doesn't feel like a cheap, flimsy kitchen tool. Plus I like that it has a plastic box to keep it clean. I read a bunch of reviews before buying, because there are a ton of garlic peelers on Amazon for super low prices. I chose this one because I trust OXO as a brand, have many of their other products and they've lasted. Plus, positive reviews and a protective case. I'm SO happy I got this thing. I put in 2 cloves of garlic, press lightly on the countertop and roll it, and BAM. Fresh, clean cloves ready to mince for my recipe. A great kitchen tool to simplify and speed up your process. 5I think this is fantastic. You can slip multiple cloves inside the sleeve ...I ordered this with a healthy amount of skepticism. Would this be easier, faster, and cleaner than chopping the tips of each clove then peeling? Would it sit in a drawer as an unused kitchen gimmick? As someone who cooks with garlic daily, I think this is fantastic. You can slip multiple cloves inside the sleeve (so far my record is five), then you press down and roll. The now-bare cloves fall out and most of the skin is stuck to the silicone. The silicone quickly rinses in water, then can be stored in its ventilated case, allowing it to dry without dripping on anything else in your drawer. If you use garlic regularly, this is a quite affordable luxury. 5Doesn't work for meOf the four silicone tubular garlic peelers I have used, this is the only one I have disliked. The tube walls are too thick and stiff, so it will not peel a single garlic clove. If you follow the directions and insert several cloves, one clove will indeed pop out peeled, but the remaining cloves are unaffected. Perhaps I have not found the trick to make this work well, but I've had no problems with other thinner-walled peelers. I bought two and gave one to a friend, and her experience matched mine. 1Does not peel cloves all of the time.The results using the product are very inconsistent, sometimes you get peeled garlic cloves, sometimes you do not. To be honest you are better off using a bowl, placing garlic cloves in the bowl, covering and shaking vigorously like Martha Stewart recommended. I get peeled garlic cloves every time using a bowl. This product is too inconsistent and in my opinion a waste of money. 1YESSS!!!!!OK, this is DEFINITELY not a gimmick! Follow the instructions and this will save you time and sanity in the kitchen. !. It must be DRY. 2. Only put 3-5 cloves in at a time. 3. Don't Hulk-smash it, roll it with minimal pressure & it works like a champ. It also rinses very easily & dries quick. Bonus case has holes on either end to ensure it dries completely in between uses when you toss it in a drawer. I will never hand/knife smash garlic and fight with those pesky skins sticking to everything ever again. 5OXO Garlic Peeler very efficient and easy to use.This OXO garlic peeler is exactly what I needed. My recipes sometimes call for 6 garlic cloves at a time and it is very frustrating and time consuming to peel that many. I've tried the crushing technique with a chef knife, however this OXO tool is much more easy to use without having to pound on a knife. I put 5 garlic cloves of different sizes in the OXO peeler at once and rolled it on the counter and I was done. Very efficient product. Glad I have it and would definitely recommend it even as a gift for someone who has not yet discovered this amazing kitchen gadget. I also love the storage box that is included since it has vents and keeps things from sticking to it in the drawer. 5A Simple Tool all Cooks Need with the Design Touches You Expect from OXOMy first experience peeling garlic was a my first job - I was a Freshman in high school, and got a gig as a cook's assistant at a local Italian restaurant. First task? Peel a 3-gallon bucket of garlic cloves with a paring knife. I tell you, I wasn't aware I had so many nerve endings under my fingernails! My fingertips stung and stung for a couple of days.Over time, I got better at peeling garlic, but it was still an unpleasant task, made no better by the occasional finger sting. Well, it changed my mothers life. For almost thirty years, I've watched her use garlic in her daily cooking. I've seen the turmoil and tears...you know...when you have to use a steak knife to peel each clove and you just can't quite get the garlic skins off...and it takes forever. This one product was a real game changer. She uses garlic more than ever now, and never dreads peeling it. This tool peels even the most stubborn cloves with almost zero effort.
