    Not Extra StrongThe magnets claim to be extra strong - we bought them to put our dry erase calendar that weighs 2lbs on our fridge. The magnets slide down with the calendar on it so we had to put extra magnets under the base of the hook magnet to prevent it from moving. Do they work? Yes. However, would I buy again? No. I would find something higher quality that didn t need to be altered to work as described. 3As advertised but too weak for my needsWhile they do offer 8 pounds of force to release, they slide with gravity if you put 2 lbs weight on a pair.As it took 4 to hold a tea rack in place they are simply not strong enough.For a 2 lb load it took 4 of these to keep in place.For a 2 lb load you need 16 lb magnetic hooks on a leatherette smooth finish. 3Not "extra-strong"I like these hooks, but in my experience they definitely DO NOT support 8 lbs. I tried to hang one plastic cutting board on them (only a pound or two) and they almost immediately fell down.Now I just use them to hold my potholders on the side of my metal fridge. They're handy for that purpose and I like them, but if you're looking for some heavy-duty hooks, I might suggest looking elsewhere. 3Perfect for the JobI bought these hooks to hold my oven mitts. The magnets are very strong and one hook could probably hold both mitts. Perfect little hooks for kitchens in small spaces. Worth the buy. 5I'd recommend these.I bought these to hang my oven mitts on my fridge (which is right next to my oven). Each magnet comes with a screw in hook. Both of the hooks I received don't completely screw into the magnent. However, this doesn't effect the use of this product. I can see the screw thread when my oven mitts aren't hanging off them, otherwise I can't visually tell. The magnet is strong! Over all, These seem very durable, I'd recommend these. 4BEWARE: WILL SCRATCHDON't USE THIS ITEM on anything you care about- it will scratch the surface. I learned the hard way on a very expensive brand new shiny appliance which now has a deep gash in it. The metal around the magnets is rough, the magnets are not flush with or protruding from the metal, rather they are slightly set back from the edge of the metal therefore if anything slides or if the magnet slides when pulling it off, your appliance will get scratched. This item is improperly made. A correctly made item would have the magnet slightly protruding so that the metal does not come into contact with the appliance. 1I have purchased several sets over timeI love these hooks - I use them on my fridge to hang silicone potholders and pan lids, my stainless cast-iron scrubber, bottle brush, and dish towel. So that's a total of 6 sets of 2 I have purchased as needed. The magnets are VERY strong. The only reason I considered taking off a star was that the hooks do not screw in tightly enough to the magnetic bases, so that if you are not careful the hook part may turn sideways and dump your dish towel, etc. on the floor - I have tried to glue them in but so far without success. Next I will try E-6000. 5These magnectic hooks do not look goodThese hooks are not in one piece, there is the magnetic disk and then the hook part that screws into the disk. The set I received the hook part will not screw all the way down into the disk and the screw threads are still visible. The hooks were inexpensive and they look it. Beware because they are also listed as "not returnable" I'm sure Amazon will stand behind that, however, don't bother with the hooks. 1
