Comes out of box unable to use without breakingTotal piece of useless junk !!!!Plastic handles made to push down slices of bread are almost impossible to keep held down and also bend like they are going to snap offI put it back in box and returned without ever getting a single piece of toast !!!
1One Starthe toaster get hot. I never seen a toaster be that hot on the sides
1So far so goodHave had this toaster for a couple months now. It's not nearly substantial as the sunbeam 4 slice it replaced however. It's funny. Back in the 70's and 80's I was saying the same thing about new vs old. One would think at some point, they couldn't make a toaster more flimsy and cheap, but here we are. That being said, it toasts VERY quickly. Much more quickly than the old model. It toasts evenly as well which is also an improvement. If I had to pick something to complain about, the crumb trays pull from the back (stupid), the old one pulled from the front, and the color dials turn to a number ring on the case. You can't really see where the indicator is on the knob. The old toaster had the indicator on the case, and the knob had a number ring on it. That way, you turn the knob to the number you want, aligned with the stationary indicator. Minor complaints. It toasts fast and evenly so it's a win.
4Awesome toasterAfter using a cheap Dollar store toaster for years I finally decided to get a good toaster. The four slice toaster is a great option for a family. One of my favorite things about this toaster is the fact that the bread pops up good and high and I don't have to dig in the toaster to get my bread out. There's also a way that you push the lever up a little bit and it will bring the bread up to a level that you can pick it up.I can't say enough good things about this toaster is pretty as well as works great!
5Works with lots of bread sizes and 4 slices at onceAt first (like with any plastic outer shelled toaster) there is a strong plastic burning smell. But it doesn't affect the food taste or anything like that and only is strong at the first 5 or so cycles. I wanted to replace my 2 piece toaster for a 4 piece one and this one works for what I need. It toasts one side of the bread pretty evenly between the 4 slices and the other side is slightly less toasted but that's the way I like it anyway. The stop toast knob works great and is pretty accurate. I set both knobs to about the same level and I'm pleased with the result: 4 pieces of toast at once. A quick efficient way to eat toast.
5Cheap plastic! This thing is made of cheap plastic! The only metal piece on this toaster is located inside, the rest is made of cheap plastic (the knobs, the levers ... everything). I used it once and I was surprised that the plastic didn't melt off! The only reason why I didn't return it was because I used it. Garbage!
1Coils burned outWe purchased this 2 months ago and have used it maybe 6 times total. My husband went to use it tonight and all of the coils on the left side stopped working. Fine, it was a cheap toaster right? So he goes to use the other side and sparks come out and then fried itself. DO NOT BUY THIS! Read this review and the others! Spend the extra $10 and get something that will last and not cause you to worry about your house burning down!!
1cheaply madeI bought this item basically because it was the cheapest, and I got exactly what I paid for.My experience: The buttons when pushed, don t "catch" as you attempt to toast the bread. You have to press it about 50 -70 times before the bread actually stays down and begins toasting. (Super frustrating) The buttons when I do press them, they actually BEND! Yes you can feel the plastic bending underneath your finger as you press the button.. Very flimsy thin plastic used for construction. This toaster lasted me 6 months before I had to toss it out. Do yourself a favor, and buy a mid-grade priced toaster.
1Don't wast your moneyWell...it toasts....BUT the push down handle is plastic and it's SOOO hard to get it to go and stay down ... so I have to fight with it for about 5 minutes before it'll stay pushed down to toast the bread.
1Great Toaster if you are carefulExcellent operating toaster = my only fault would be the chintzy thin plastic lever used to lower the toast. I know it will eventually break as it is the weakest point on an otherwise excellent toaster.
