Customer Reviews
I like them. --Update-- Nope.Works great. I've got em up in my dining room. The price was better than my local hardware store and they work as well. I can't speak for their longevity as they've only been in about a week. If I remember, I'll post an update in a year or so.-Update- 3/15/18, They've been in for several months now and so far so good. Working as expected.-Update- 12/2/18, Four of the bulbs burned out about two weeks ago. They were on two separate circuits along with other bulbs that are still fine so it wasn't a power surge or anything like that. The four burned out over a day and a half. It was weird to see that, like a light plague that only affected every other bulb. My guess is the workmanship; whichever overworked soul assembled these four didn't get enough sleep previous night. In any case, the bulbs were in the dining room which gets use one day a week at most. These bulbs really weren't used much, I have incandescents from before these that are still working. Gonna have to say that their claim of thousands of usage-hours is not true.Dropping from 5 to 2 stars. Four dead bulbs, Four still work.-Update- 12/25/18, Another one burned out. This is pretty disappointing, the rationalization in paying for LED bulbs is the thought that they'll last much longer than incandescents. These LEDs couldn't even match them.As the majority of these bulbs now don't work I'm dropping it to one star and do not recommend buying them.1Nice bright natural light, but they don't lastI have been having a hard time with recessed LED bulbs. I need bulbs that are very bright and that will hold up (last long). I have been disappointed with all of the brands that I have tried out. Unfortunately, these have been no different. They are nice and bright, have an instant on, and have great natural color. But as they heat up when you turn them on, they audibly pop a little for the first little bit. I am now starting to have them fail after a few months. They will flicker in a fast strobing manner and then fail to come on after a few days of that. I really wished a manufacturer would make a bulb like this that would last a year or more.2Don't lastBought an 8-pack in December 2017. At first, these were great for the kitchen - I like the 4000k color, and at 840 lumens it was a good brightness. However, after about 6 months they started dying. First one, then two more, then another...after 10 months, 6 of the 8 have died. This is at about 10% of their rated life (in hours used). At first Sunco's customer service was good - they replaced the first one right away. However, when the next three failed, they wanted me to return the bulbs and pay for shipping - which would have been $11 in shipping, or about what it would cost to buy them new from Amazon. Ultimately they shipped me the bulbs without me having to return them. Now that 2 more have failed, I'm ready to switch to another brand. The warranty doesn't mean much if I need to pay the same amount to ship them back as it would cost to buy new.1Got 6, 3 were bad, in return they sent me 3 different bad light bulbs. This was a great deal for the money. The light color looks great in our grey and white kitchen. The are listed as warm hue, but they're not too yellow. The wife and I really like them.Update 6 months later: Of the 6, 3 made popping noises. I emailed the seller about the 3 bulbs, and a rep sent me 3 replacement bulbs wrapped in bubble wrap, mailed in a plastic envelope. The replacements all make a pop sound after being on for about a minute or two. The rep told me they were doing me a favor by not having me return all the bulbs. That was nice, but since the replacement bulbs are also defective, and were so poorly packaged, that I can't help but wonder where the replacement bulbs came from. I really liked the lights at first, but the popping sound makes my wife and I wonder if there is a fire hazard with the bulbs.1WOW!!! Easy FIVE stars!WOW!!! I recently did a small remodel of my kitchen. One of the finishing touches was changing out my six 65W old "warm white" recessed flood lights with these 11W (65W equivalent) "cool white" LED flood lights, and I cannot explain the difference it made! I hated the yellow tint and dullness of the older normal lights. The crystal clear white glow and brightness of these lights is overwhelmingly different. I tried explaining what the difference would be to my girlfriend as I was ordering them and she was stunned when we actually received them ans switched them out. I HIGHLY recommend these!P.S. - You can even see the difference in the before and after picture I posted. Also note that the "after" picture was taken at night, whereas the "before" picture was taken during the day. The new lights make it brighter even without the help of the daylight!!!5Bulbs are not lasting as long as they should be...Update: Customer Service was great and the company quickly sent two replacement bulbs free of charge. It is good to know that the company stands behind their product and hopefully this was an isolated incident. I will update if any further issues occur.I purchased these bulbs in November, 2018 and two bulbs have failed recently. They have gone dim where all the other adjacent bulbs are still working fine. The bulbs have produced a great brightness and worked great until this point where a few are failing. I would have given these five stars up until encountering this issue. I am curious if any other people have had this issue and what the company has done to stand behind their product. I have tried reaching out to Sunco and will update/amend this review as applicable at a later date.5The Sunco BR30 flood lights due produce a wonderful 3000K color and are very quiet on a standard ...The Sunco BR30 flood lights due produce a wonderful 3000K color and are very quiet on a standard light switch. We installed two in our kitchen on a standard light switch and are satisfied with them. However, these bulbs buzz considerably when connected to a Lutron CL Diva 150 dimmer. In our case, we have 6 of these bulbs on that brand/model dimmer in our living room, and they buzz at all light levels except when the dimmer is set at its lowest setting. That is simply annoying. After 3 weeks, I simply had to replace them. I purchased the Maxxima LED BR30 75 Watt Equivalent Dimmable 11 Watt Light Bulbs instead, and viola - peace and quiet. Now, one has to realize that different made/model LED bulbs will behave differently with different dimmers. So, if you have a different dimmer, your results may vary. But I give these 3 stars since the bulbs, when turned off, had slight discolorations to the white frosting on the bulbs...which just makes them look cheap when they are turned off. Albeit, this is only on 2 of the 8 bulbs in the pack. Of ALL the LED bulbs I have purchased for our house, none of them had that particular issue. So, if you are just putting these on a standard light switch, I don't think you will have a problem at all. But if you have a dimmer or a little picky on how they look when they are turned off, you may want to think twice. Good luck.3these are awesome. They have a plastic encasing rather than glassSo far, these are awesome. They have a plastic encasing rather than glass. They don't feel as fragile. I like that. They feel brighter than the incandescent lights I replaced. But no buzzing, dimmable, stay cool to the touch, and saving me electricity! all for less than $4 a bulb when I bought. I'd say they were worth it. Would be happy to buy again!5Great replacements for CFL or Halogen bulbsGreat quality bulbs. All working excellent and are very bright. Replaced 65 of these all over the house as I was tired of messing around with the compact florescent bulbs that keep going out. I am also saving quite a lot on wattage with these! They dim well, and there is no noise when dimming. I will update as these wear and see if they last or not! So far, all working and are very bright. The light output is more warm white than the usual led pure white look.5Great but !!I like these lights except for one exception. When I replaced my can Lights in my den with the daylight bulbs we loved how everything brightened up and looked clean. The exception came when we went to watch a movie that night and had been used to dimming the lights down like in the theater. The new lights would only dim to about 10 percent and was to bright to leave them on. Other then that they are everything they say they are. I ended up changing out the bulbs to a different led that did dim lower. I m using these in my outside spot lights and the daylight brightness illuminates the yard with that great daylight brightness.3
