Description

  • Add 1/4 cup (Negg capful) of water to the Negg. Add your hard-boiled egg and snap on the top cap.
  • SHAKE the Negg up and down with enough force so that the egg strikes the caps. Remember to take it a little easy, or you will end up with a slushy mess complete with shells.
  • Shake until you feel the shell begin to "soften" - approximately 4 to 12 times. Timing will vary. The body is clear so you can watch the progress.
  • When you see the white of the egg appear, you're done. Mission Accomplished. Now you're ready to slip the egg out of its shell.
  • If the egg is a reluctant sheller you may have to break the membrane after shaking to get the shell to release. This can happen with extremely fresh eggs, and is not the norm.

Customer Reviews

I would not recommend! The service was excellent. But the Negg really is no better than peelin it with your hands. The video demonstrating the use looks like it works while in reality it's more Miss than it peels the shell. 1It's NOT magicDid not work any better than when I used a glass jar with water and shake it. Cheaply made. Peeled 3 eggs and it is all scratched up. Poor quality for the price. Must use over the sink as the container leaks water everywhere. 2The only problem is I am eating too many hard boiled eggs now because this is so easy.: )This thing works amazingly well. Peeling hard-boiled eggs has always been dicey for me. This does the job. Here is what I do: I put the eggs in a small pan, fill the pan with water to just cover the eggs. Turn on the stove till the water boils. Turn off the stove right after the water boils. Wait 10 minutes. Pour the water out and refill with cold water and 3 cups of ice. Let that sit for at least 5 minutes. Then use the Negg. Put on one cap, add water to the top of the cap. Put in the egg. Put on the other cap. Shake a little. Take off a cap. Pour the egg and water into my hand over the sink, then presto, slide the shell off. Works every time. The only problem is I am eating too many hard boiled eggs now because this is so easy. :) 5Not worth the money.I have tried this multiple times and it destroys the eggs. The same batch of boiled eggs peeled just fine by hand. Such a disappointment since this was a gift for my husband. Missed the return window. 1Worth the investmentOMG! Finally something that gives me hard boiled eggs without the aggravation and without losing half of the eggs. Shells come off in one piece if you follow the directions. Yes it's a little pricey, but when you think what it saves you over the life of the product, it's well worth it! 5Makes peeling eggs a lot more fun. Cool eggs completely and follow included instructionsMakes peeling eggs a lot more fun. Cool eggs completely and follow included instructions. Add a little water, the hard-boiled egg and shake, shake, shake. It cracks up the shell, sorry Humpty, and the shell peels right off. 5Hard Boiled Eggs Made EasyI completely skeptical the first time I bought this. We purchased it first on Grommet and tried it out. I was amazed. Put the right amount of water in, drop in your hard boiled egg, close the lid, and shake. It's that easy. Most of the time the shell just slides right off as you are taking the egg out of the container. When I once had super fresh eggs, I had a little bit of difficulty with two of 24 I was using for an egg salad, but it was not nearly the trouble you experience when you hard boil a really fresh egg. I just had a few pieces to pull off.Once we knew it worked so well, it was definitely worth the price. I purchased this one and sent to my mom as a gift because I knew she would never spend this amount to get it for herself. She's always doing deviled eggs, egg salad, and macaroni salad with eggs for church potlucks and I wanted it to be easier for her. She's used it several times and loves it! 5This does work!I followed the direction specifically. I had the water boiling before putting in my eggs. I let the eggs boil for 11 minutes, took them out of the pot I boiled them in and put them into iced water for 5 mins, filled the shaker cup as directed, just enough water to cover the nub in the bottom of the unit, put the top on and shook it up and down for about 12 shakes, making sure the egg mad contact with both the top and bottom of the item. I dumped the water out of the unit and slide the egg out, it looked a bit of a mess but when I slid the shell from the egg, it came off easily with no damage to the egg. Worked for me fine, first time out. 4Need eggs in demoI watched a video demo, where the shell slid off the egg. The product should come with those perfect-to-peel eggs. Unfortunately, my organic eggs did not work with the Negg. It only helped make them harder to peel by cracking the shell into tiny pieces. One of the eggs did not survive the process, so only 5 out of 6 eggs survived with many scars to prove they went through the Negg. 1Eggy WeggyThe reviews on Amazon really help me to make informed decisions on products but I was a bit wary before spending almost 20 bucks on three pieces of plastic. I get the negative reviews for the Negg and know there are plenty of ways to get the shell off a hard boiled egg. There were enough positive reviews to make the purchase and I'm glad I did because the Negg preps the egg for easy shell removal plus there is no mess. I also follow their directions for making hard boiled eggs and now I get a perfect batch every time. 5
