It works better than a utensil without notchesBought this because I needed a pasta scoop, and the bamboo goes with the stuff in my kitchen. This is more of a paddle with notches on the side, rather than a deeper scoop that I'm used to. I tried it in lieu of just rejecting it because it was different. It works better than a utensil without notches, but for serving, I prefer the deeper ones. 3Hard to find bamboo ladleI really needed a ladle that wouldn't scrape my enameled iron pots which I use often. It took a lot of looking.This is truly a nice deep ladle made in layered bamboo. It pours well. Made to last, it's well finished with a very nice handle.Many bamboo implements are shallow, which is OK if you want that, but for deeper shaped implements, this bamboo implement company exceeded my expectations. I realized after searching stores and the internet, in order to get the depth I was looking for in a bamboo spoon(sep order) or bamboo ladle, I couldn't get out of paying more.After ordering by the pictures and description, when I opened the box, I was relieved to see the ladle was beautiful. The separate spoon I bought from them also had the same high quality for bamboo. 5Looks Nice, Works Not So WellThe quality of this server seems high enough, but the usability is just too low. I rarely make actual spaghetti noodles, preferring instead smaller pastas like shells, penne, or rotini. For these pastas, this spoon just doesn't work. It won't pick up any of the pasta, and when you do manage to get something on the spoon, it's a balancing act to keep it there until you plate it.If you want something that looks good, by all means purchase this as a decorative piece. If you want something that works, look for something with more depth to it to make grabbing your pasta easier. 3Best Wooden Spatula I ve Ever OwnedI love that this spatula is coated, so it s not porous and soaking up water when cleaning or cooking with it! It s the perfect shape for chopping up meats when cooking. This is my go to cooking utensil. Super sturdy too! I imagine I ll be using this for years to come before it ll have to be replaced. 5I want to give this a higher rating...This product has the makings of a great spatula: It is sturdy, and cleans well. Unfortunately, for a straight wooden spatula, which is of course not flexible, the blade is simply too large and most of all too thick at the end to be useful for most applications. It is too unwieldy to move things about with precision in a frying pan. Would love to see a smaller version. For now, this one has been benched and sits unused in the kitchen tool drawer. 1Pieces started falling offthis ladle has glued pieces of bamboo. Pieces started falling apart within few days of use. Quality is cheap. Do not buy!!!! 1Finally, a Full Sized Bamboo LadleI love burnished bamboo cooking utensils, they don't mind heat or the dishwasher, last for years, and can be used with traditional and non-stick pans. But while you can find various spoons, spatulas, and tongs very easily, full-sized ladles are hard to come by. So I was thrilled when I saw this one from Totally Bamboo. Since this is made of several pieces of bamboo laminated together, do make sure you dry it after washing to prevent splitting. 4Our favorite cooking and serving spoonMy husband didn't think we needed to replace our old warped and melted plastic cooking spoon, but after using this bamboo spoon it's literally his favorite cooking utensil. We may never go back to using plastic or metal again. Unlike plastic spoons, we don't have to worry about it melting and chipping. And unlike metal, we don't have to worry about scratching our pots and pans.This bamboo spoon is also the perfect length. Not too long that it's difficult to handle and not too short that it would burn your hands while cooking. The bamboo itself is high quality and very beautiful. We've had it for several months and it hasn't changed in any way. And unlike other wooden utensils, it hasn't split at all. It also has a little hole at the end of its handle so you can conveniently hang it near your cooking station. 5Excellent cooking spoon, highly recommendedThis is really excellent. It's pretty much as described: well-finished (very nice to hold in hand while cooking), 14 inches, with a large bowl. I used it to make some spicy Indian food: it was just the right length for stirring inside a big (8qt) pot, and even better, it came clean easily in warm soapy water with no fuss, with only light staining from the spices. (Turmeric will stain just about anything, so this is an expected and acceptable result.)I can recommend it highly, it's way better than my older 14 inch large wooden cooking spoons. I haven't found anything better for my use. 5Perfect!I ve been using wood utensils for some time In an effort to rid all the cheap plastic ones but have kept using the plastic spaghetti one I had. I was so glad to find this. I was worried it wouldn t hold much due to it being pretty flat but it gets the job done well & has held up great so far. I love that I can place it over the boiling water to to help keep it from boiling over. Great product, highly recommended 5
