Exactly what I was looking for in a countertop paper towel holderWeighted base with soft layer on bottom stays where put on the counter and doesn't scratch. Can get a roll of towels on it without having to unscrew the top. Easy to unroll and tear off a towel. Simple but perfect to coordinate with other stainless steel in the kitchen; doesn't take up extra counter space for a large base. I don't want my paper towel holder to be an obtrusive feature of my kitchen! 5but I really don't like foam lined items on a kitchen counter that will ...Looks and functions as expected except for foam bottom of the holder -- there's a foam liner underneath the base that you can't really see in the photos. I guess it's to make it non-scratch/non-slip, but I really don't like foam lined items on a kitchen counter that will get wet, etc. (Foam bottoms don't hold up with wet counters over time -- tend to get gross). 4Who knew paper towel rolls had different sizes?Like other reviewers, I cannot tear off a paper towel with just one hand with this holder. I use Sparkle paper towels and the roll spins around on the stand. I'm not sure what type of paper towel would fit snugly on this thing, but some people seem to have luck with it so there must be different sizes of rolls. Having said that, I like the way it looks, it seems pretty sturdy, and I don't really need to rip off paper towels with just one hand. I am keeping it. 4Just okay.I like Umbra products but this did not work well. The papertowel pretty much spun around on the holder. I didn't find that it was a "one tug" papertowel dispenser. I returned it. As far as it holding papertowel, yes, it can do that but just did not find that it functioned as a "one tug". So depending upon your needs and what you want it to do, it may or may not work for you. 2HAPPY CAMPER!Really happy with this purchase, the price was good and it's very easy to rip off a paper towel one-handed. It's sturdy, doesn't tip and so far the metal is wearing well. Not only was the circular base anything but circular but the actual paper towel holding extension was very wobbly and loose. I would advise looking elsewhere for a more robust and sturdy unit. The padded base does not make a sound when you pull a paper towel or move the holder across the counter.The rubber spine holds the paper towel core securely. This makes it easy to pull a paper towel off with one hand. The spine isn't attractive but it serves its purpose very well... and you can't see the spine with a paper towel roll is inserted on the holder.The quality is very good. It looks good sitting on the counter. I recommend this to anyone. 5Five Starsdoes not tip when I get a paper towel and matches my stainless appliances perfect 5Just what I was looking forI had purchased some cheap stainless steel paper towel holders from a nearby big name brand store and the holder required two hand usage or it would tip over. I hated that and I wanted something sturdy that could hold up with one hand usuge. Behold this towel holder. It never tops over and I endlessly use one hand to rip off a towel. The rolls I buy don't even require me to remove the cap on top to remove and replace a roll. Well worth the money. 5Not SturdyI loved this paper towel holder. However, in just a matter of a few months the center part leans and is wobbly. I am unable to tighten it by screwing it. I'm unsure what happened. You better use two hands when ripping a piece of paper towel off. 1
