Placebo effect?Placebo effect? IDK. its very nice looking and is great to being out for wine parties. A lot of people though feel they taste it better with it even though I switched their glass back to one that was not airated.Maybe people slow down and smell taste it slower knowing they used this gadget.I still like my old fashion decanter and time... Works very well and definite difference in taste of wine when used.5A must have for the wine enthusiast!This is a great little product. I was skeptical when I first saw one. It was being used at a Colorado winery. They weren't pushing them, but just mentioned that they'd pour one glass of wine, straight from the bottle into a glass, and another from the bottle, through the Vinturi aerateor and into the glass. Now, it won't do much for a bad wine, but definitely makes a good wine better, and a great wine, FANTASTIC! It instantly brings out the flavors in your wine, just like pouring the wine into a decanter, and letting it set for hours, to let it breath would do, but again, it does the very same, instantly, with no waiting required. I recommend buying online, as you'll find them at a better price, and getting the black one for red wines, and the white one, yep', you guessed it, for your favorite white wines. I often buy them as gifts, and ALWAYS get rave reviews.5Good aerator, stand is not usefulWorks great. Takes a bit of getting used to since the wine has to be poured with a steady hand at a constant pace so the air intake holes are always covered. Only reason for the one less star is that when I use the stand, wine always comes out of the sides. I read several reviews and it doesn't seem to be a defect in my one piece. I could be pouring it wrong, but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
